2019 Porsche Panamera

In the second generation of the Gran Turismo, Porsche is introducing the world鈥檚 first plug-in hybrid to the luxury class. The Panamera S E-Hybrid is a systematically advanced development of the parallel full hybrids with a more powerful electric motor, a higher-performance battery that supplies more energy and the ability to charge it externally from the electrical grid. The electric drive produces 95 hp (70 kW), which is more than double the power of the previous model鈥檚 electric motor at 47 hp (34 kW). It draws its energy from a newly developed lithium-ion battery, which at 9.4 kWh has over five times the 1.7 kWh energy capacity of the previous battery in nickel metal hydride technology. The Panamera S E-Hybrid far exceeds the driving performance of the previous model. In addition, the previous model鈥檚 NEDC fuel consumption of 7.1 l/100 km was reduced by 56 per cent to 3.1 l/100 km. That equates to CO2 emissions of 71 g/km.

At the same time, its all-electric driving performance was substantially improved with regard to electric acceleration, the electric range and electric top speed. An intensive pure electric driving experience is possible without any fuel consumption or local emissions, which is especially advantageous in the urban environment. The electric driving range of the Panamera S E-Hybrid was determined to be 36 kilometres in NEDC-based testing. Driving range may vary in real operation, since air conditioning and heating are deactivated in NEDC test conditions, for example. A realistic all-electric driving range in everyday operation would lie somewhere between 18 and 36 km - and under particularly favourable conditions it could even exceed this range. The Panamera with the new hybrid drive can reach speeds of up to 135 km/h in all-electric operation. The acceleration time from a standstill to 100 km/h was shortened by half a second to 5.5 seconds. The electric boost function helps here, in which the performance of the electric motor boosts that of the combustion engine. Boosting can also be activated by kick-down - such as in overtaking situations. The car鈥檚 top speed is 270 km/h.

The parallel full hybrid concept developed by Porsche also offers 鈥渃oasting鈥?at higher speeds, which refers to free coasting with the internal combustion engine shut off and energy recovery by generating electricity. The forward-looking concept of the Panamera S E-Hybrid also embodies an entirely new range of convenience functions, which can also be activated and called up by a smart phone app. There is the charge status indicator, for example. In addition, the auxiliary climate control option of the plug-in hybrid enables car preheating or cooling via Porsche Car Connect; it can be programmed in the vehicle or even more conveniently via the smart phone app. A smart phone may also be used for battery management or for remote access to vehicle information such as the remaining driving range or for guiding users back to their parked vehicles. All functions that are not specific to the hybrid drive are also available as options for the other Panamera models via the Car Connect smart phone app from Porsche.

The spatial concept of the Panamera with two full-fledged bucket seats in the rear seating area proved to be so successful that Porsche is further extending it in the new generation Gran Turismo. The new Panamera Turbo Executive and Panamera 4S Executive models - with their 15 cm longer wheelbase - offer more rear seating space and even better ride comfort. They have a very extensive range of features, and above all they offer exceptional comfort at both rear seat locations as standard. All Executive models have the innovative Panamera air suspension, which combines excellent ride comfort and typical Porsche driving properties. Boosting of performance and efficiency is a core competency at Porsche. In developing the new Panamera, this led to an entirely new engine based on the downsizing concept: a V6 engine with three litres displacement and biturbo charging. Most Panamera models are equipped with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung PDK. The comfortable eight-speed automatic Tiptronic S operates in the Panamera Diesel and Panamera S E-Hybrid.

Porsche Panamera C One

As far as body kits for the first-generation Porsche Panamera go, Mansory鈥檚 C One tune is up there with similar products from TechArt, Lumma Design and a few other tuners. The collective goal was to make the ungainly Panamera more aggressive, while also boosting power in various stages - although not all tuners did both. Mansory takes pride in their extreme creations and the C One package for the Porsche Panamera 970 certainly qualifies. According to the German tuner, the 4.8-liter turbocharged V8 received new electronics, larger turbos and a stainless steel sports exhaust system, raising power output to 690 PS and pushing torque to 850 Nm. Straight line acceleration thus improved to 4 seconds dead for the 0-100 km/h sprint, whereas top speed is now 328 km/h. On the outside, the Panamera C One features a custom front fascia with LED daytime running lights, a carbon fiber bonnet, wider wheel arches, side skirts and a custom rear fascia with a massive diffuser and a fixed rear wing. This particular car, spotted in Warsaw by DannyZDR, doesn鈥檛 appear to have the carbon fiber bonnet though.

A marked departure from the automaker's countless sports cars before it, the original Cayenne was a five-passenger sport utility vehicle that boasted both on- and off-road prowess and a choice between six- and eight-cylinder front-mounted, water-cooled powerplants. It was unlike anything that had ever worn a Porsche badge. If its design and primary mission weren't enough to petrify stubborn loyalists, the fact that it shared platforms and many of its components with the Volkswagen Touareg (and Audi Q7) was sure to have them choking on their salted pretzels. Regardless, the 2.5-ton Cayenne flew out of showrooms faster than the venerable 911 - it soon became the automaker's best-selling vehicle. In truth, it is argued in many circles that the sports car company was saved by its SUV. Eight years later, Porsche is rolling out the all-new 2011 Cayenne - arguably one of the company's most important debuts ever - especially if one considers sheer sales volume and potential profits. Like its predecessor, the new Cayenne shares its platform and components with its Volkswagen siblings, but Porsche has taken this model much more seriously.

While the first-generation Cayenne was very competent, it was burdened by a heavy four-wheel-drive system and an appearance that never really looked completely cohesive. With its engineers fresh out of SUV-rehab, the new Porsche model emerges with a purpose. The engaging new sheetmetal (all-steel fully-galvanized body panels) wrapped around the unibody platform speaks Porsche - from the raised fenders sitting higher than the hood to the instantly recognizable ovoid headlights. The designers blacked-out the B-pillars on the new model, and lowered the waistline, so it no longer looks like it's wearing its pants too high. The rear lights now wrap onto the liftgate, and the exhaust has been more cleanly integrated. While the overall package appears much sleeker, the drag coefficient has actually increased a tenth to .36 - styling took precedence. Influenced heavily by the Panamera sedan - and moved upscale in appointment as a result - the Cayenne's cabin is greatly improved. The five-ring main instrument cluster is cleaner as it now features the familiar multi-function flat-screen display to the right of the tachometer. Dash vents have been lowered to flank the large navigation screen, while the center console picks up the HVAC controls.

The buttons are overwhelming at first (when you get done with those, there are a dozen more overhead), but familiarization helps. Porsche will offer four Cayenne models in North America in 2010. The first to arrive in just a couple months will be the eight-cylinder Cayenne S and the flagship Cayenne Turbo. The Cayenne S Hybrid and Cayenne V6 won't arrive until later in the year. As of now, there are no plans to offer the Cayenne Diesel on our shores. Like the outgoing model, the 2011 Cayenne features fully independent double-wishbone suspension up front, and an independent multi-link design in the rear. Ground clearance, for the standard steel springs, is 8.7 inches. The Turbo model is also fitted with a self-leveling air suspension that adds variable ride height. The front brakes are Porsche's six-piston aluminum "monobloc" calipers over 14.15-inch iron rotors on the S and S Hybrid models. The Turbo we spent most of our time driving wears similar six-pot calipers with larger 15.35-inch two-piece rotors - the rear rotors on all models are only slightly smaller in diameter, although clamped with four-piston aluminum calipers.

As is the case with the rest of the automaker's lineup, Porsche's formidable "PCCB" carbon ceramic brakes (above) are optional. The standard wheel package includes 18-inch alloys wrapped in 255/55R18 tires on all four corners (all are "square" setups - none staggered). The Turbo is shod with 19-inch alloys wearing 265/50R19 tires (the one we drove on the track was fitted with optional 21-inch wheels wearing 295/35R21 tires). The 2011 Cayenne S is fitted with a 4.8-liter V8, the same direct-injected 32-valve unit as last year's model, but minor tweaks have improved the engine's power slightly so it's now rated at 400 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The 2010 Cayenne Turbo bolts twin turbochargers to that direct-injected 4.8-liter V8 to produce 500 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Both powerplants share a new slick-shifting eight-speed "Tiptronic" automatic transmission with sliding shift levers on the steering wheel spokes. While all of this sounds rather enticing on paper, the assemblage of German SUVs currently sold in North America includes not only the Porsche Cayenne, but the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML-Class - heavy hitters.

The clairvoyant Nostradamus would, of course, go on to foresee many global events, the vast majority open to interpretation, including the French Revolution, Adolph Hitler, the Apollo moon landing, multiple plagues, earthquakes, wars, floods, and Miley Cyrus. In 1999, Porsche announced it would build a sport utility vehicle. In 2002, The New York Times suggested the 鈥淐ayenne,鈥?as the SUV would be called, was causing much peeing of pants among Porsche loyalists, one reason being that the SUV resembled 鈥渁 stretched and swollen Boxster,鈥?the reporter wrote. In 2003, the Cayenne went on sale, and the world did not end. In 2011, half the vehicles Porsche sold in the U.S. In 2018, Porsche introduced the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid to journalists. In Montpellier. Just to rub Nostradamus鈥?nose in his oversight. In 2020, the award-winning (in 2013) University of Montpellier鈥檚 girls鈥?soccer team will be known as 鈥渢he Montpellier Cayennes.鈥?Or not.

And while much history is contained in the past 275 words, we鈥檝e told you precious little about the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, which is much more fun than a capsule description of it鈥攁nother V-6 SUV hybrid鈥攎ight suggest. As it has since 2003 with the Cayenne, Porsche consistently exceeds expectations, and does so again. Yes, the Cayenne E-Hybrid has a V-6, the twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter from the base Cayenne that pumps out a respectable 335 horsepower, and 332 lb-ft of torque. But the plug-in hybrid model gets a boost from a surprisingly compact electric motor, located next to the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, making the grand total output a sobering 455 horsepower, with 516 lb-ft. Those numbers are impressive, but while there鈥檚 an undeniable increase in power, it doesn鈥檛 really work like, say, a 455-hp V-8. This is indeed one of those vehicles in which, following a moment of inattention on the highway, you look down at its speedometer and go, 鈥淐rap! 鈥?The amount of power on tap, plus the eager transmission, moves the two-and-a-half-ton sport-ute along briskly and quietly, but it鈥檚 less invigorating than you might imagine.

You want invigorating, buy the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo with 541 hp. 80,950, which鈥攄ollar for horsepower鈥攊s pretty reasonable. That鈥檚 with a very long list of standard equipment, but as anyone who has priced a Porsche鈥攁ny Porsche鈥攌nows, options are available. Lots and lots of options. Standard stuff includes (surprisingly) the Sport Chrono package; leather-trimmed seats; a 10-speaker, 150-watt sound system; the Porsche Communication Management system; front and rear park assist; and airbags aplenty. 4,000 and up, as they come with body-colored wheel arch extensions. The standard 19-inch wheel is a reasonably handsome five-spoke design; it doesn鈥檛 look bad if you prefer to save the cash. Porsche鈥檚 website doesn鈥檛 list available 22-inch tires and wheels, but company executives say they will offer such a package. Porsche鈥檚 active all-wheel-drive is standard, but off-roading was not a part of the press preview program. We did a bit of unauthorized dirt-roading on our own, and while the amount of ground clearance doesn鈥檛 encourage it, the Cayenne E-Hybrid should be fine for mild cow trailing.

Is the Tesla Model X a Good SUV? The Tesla Model X is a good luxury midsize SUV that sets itself apart from the rest. It offers nearly 300 miles of all-electric driving, and it can bolt from zero to 60 mph in a supercar-like time of under 3 seconds. Not content to just go fast in a straight line, the Model X takes curves with composure and handles more like a smaller sedan than a midsize SUV. The Model X benefits from Tesla鈥檚 well-established penchant for technology, with a stunning 17-inch infotainment display and a whole host of Autopilot driver assistance features. However, those come at the expense of substandard fit and finish for a luxury vehicle. The Model X has among the largest cargo holds in its class, but the cabin otherwise comes up a little short on space. Should I Buy the Tesla Model X? There are several reasons to consider buying a Model X: you want an eco-friendly SUV; you want an all-electric vehicle with a long range; or you just want a car that will turn heads around the neighborhood.

If you鈥檙e set on a Tesla, you鈥檇 do well to consider the Model S sedan, which is a little less expensive and offers a longer range and better driving dynamics. If having an alternative-fuel powertrain isn鈥檛 a requirement, check out the luxurious and spacious Mercedes-Benz GLS. Should I Buy a New or Used Tesla Model X? The Tesla Model X was introduced for the 2016 model year, and it's only seen small changes since its debut. Tesla doesn't technically issue vehicles with model year designations, and you can employ over-the-air upgrades to add features or increase battery power or range. You may find used Model X examples with different ranges and power ratings than a new model, and some used models have fewer features, since some amenities became standard more recently. You can likely save lots of money by shopping for a used Model X instead of a new one.

We analyzed 14 Tesla Model X reviews - along with crash test ratings, performance specs, and more - to help you decide if the 2019 Model X is the right new car for you. This 2019 Tesla Model X review incorporates applicable research for all model years in this generation, which spans the 2016 through 2019 model years. U.S. News & World Report has been ranking cars, trucks, and SUVs since 2007, and our team has more than 75 years of combined automotive industry experience. To ensure our car reviews remain objective, we don't accept expensive gifts or trips from car companies, and an outside team manages the advertising on our site. How Much Does the Tesla Model X Cost? 88,000, which is one of the highest prices in the luxury midsize SUV class. 117,000 Tesla Model X Performance. Both models come standard with seating for five. Which Is Better: Tesla Model X or Tesla Model S?

Which Is Better: Tesla Model X or Mercedes-Benz GLS? If you鈥檙e not set on an electric SUV, you should consider the Mercedes-Benz GLS. 70,000. However, the GLS features a with a more adult-friendly third row. How Many People Does the Model X Seat? The Tesla Model X comes in three seating configurations: the standard five-seat setup, a six-person configuration with second-row captain鈥檚 chairs, and a seven-person arrangement with a second-row bench seat. All the seats are heated regardless of which setup you choose, and 12-way power-adjustable front seats are standard as well. The front seats are comfortable and provide an expansive view of the road ahead and to the side, thanks to a panoramic windshield that stretches up over your head and back towards the middle seats. That roof affords a lot of second-row headroom, but legroom is unimpressive, especially if taller front-seat occupants need to slide their seats back. The optional second-row captain's chairs offer the best third-row access, though they only tilt and slide as a single piece. Like in many 3-row SUVs, the third row is best suited for children.

100K Porsche Cayenne, Panamera Models Recalled Over Rollaway Risk

Two popular Porsche models have been recalled to fix transmission bushings that could degrade, increasing the risk of the vehicle rolling away while in park. In the meantime, Porsche is telling vehicle owners to use their cars' parking brakes. The recall will begin Aug. 11, according to documents released last week by the NHTSA. Both the Porsche Cayenne SUV and the Panamera hatchback sedan are the subject vehicles. The NHTSA didn't provide breakdowns for how many of each model are affected, but total, the recall covers 99,665 vehicles. The recall also spans over a decade of cars. Included in the recall for the rollaway risk are the 2003-2010 Cayenne and 2010-2016 Panamera. The German brand said the affected vehicles feature a plastic bushing that connects the gear selector lever and transmission. The bushing may wear down and detach from the transmission, and that could leave an owner in the wrong gear even if the vehicle is in park and turned off. While the selector may say park, the transmission may remain in drive or another gear that requests motion. A rollaway risk increases the likelihood of injury or a crash. Owners will not see warning lights or hear a chime to warn him or her of the problem, either. The fix the problem, Porsche will replace the shifter cable bushing free of charge. Upon bringing the Panamera or Cayenne to a dealer, a technician will inspect the part and swap in a stronger plastic bushing that will not degrade over time. The brand expects 100 percent of the affected vehicles to house the problem.

There鈥檚 a good level of grip to match the Mercedes, while the steering is similarly lifeless, but slightly more precise. Along with the ride, it鈥檚 a little more refined, too. The engine doesn鈥檛 sound particularly pleasant, but it doesn鈥檛 have the A-Class鈥檚 strained note, either, while wind and road noise are well suppressed. Testers鈥?notes: While the interior isn鈥檛 as modern as the A-Class鈥檚, the Golf鈥檚 ergonomics are sound and everything is constructed from high-quality materials that easily match the Mercedes鈥? With a similar mechanical make-up to the VW, the Audi A3 is another premium hatch. It appeared before the Mk7 Golf, showcasing some clever tech. It鈥檚 had some revisions over its six-year life, too, but is it still competitive in this class? To find out, we test a 拢28,835 1.5 TFSI S tronic in S line trim. Unlike the Golf, our A3 didn鈥檛 have adaptive dampers, and on 拢325 18-inch alloys the ride feels crashier than the VW鈥檚. It suffers from a similar problem as the Mercedes at lower speeds, but doesn鈥檛 feel quite as busy over broken roads or fidget as much in town.

Once you get out on to more open, flowing roads the A3鈥檚 chassis set-up makes more sense, because it鈥檚 direct and responsive with plenty of stability. Due to the MQB underpinnings the steering feels similar to the VW鈥檚. But it doesn鈥檛 have a dynamic edge over the Golf and can鈥檛 match it for comfort. The A3鈥檚 1.5 TFSI unit did deliver performance to match the VW, though, with the low-down torque morphing into a keen top end that, for a regular engine, encourages you to exploit the performance. Testers鈥?notes: It鈥檚 a shame that you have to spec the 拢1,395 Technology Pack on S line trim to get the Virtual Cockpit. It鈥檚 not available as a standalone feature, as it is with the Golf. The Golf asserts its authority again thanks to its all-round ability. It鈥檚 the most affordable and comfortable choice, but also the sweetest to drive, while it鈥檒l be cost-effective to run, too.

Factor in great standard infotainment, more practicality and plenty of quality, matched by a good level of usability, and the VW is still the undisputed king of the family hatchback sector. Mercedes鈥?latest A-Class has taken a big leap forward. It feels more upmarket thanks to its advanced but optional infotainment, yet while the packaging is improved, it鈥檚 still not as practical as the Golf. It doesn鈥檛 drive as well, either, mainly due to a lack of comfort over the VW, and while it鈥檚 slightly quicker, it鈥檒l be pricier to buy and more expensive to run than the Golf. While it uses similar hardware to the Golf, the A3 trails a little on execution, and six years after launch it鈥檚 starting to lag behind the best in the class. It鈥檚 fast, fun to drive and composed, while it offers relatively strong usability. Despite impressive economy and lovely quality, the Audi is the priciest car here, but doesn鈥檛 feel as advanced in standard form inside. BMW鈥檚 1 Series is one of the more dynamic premium hatchbacks on offer. It has the measure of the A-Class for enjoyment behind the wheel, but even after a facelift, it doesn鈥檛 feel as modern as the Mercedes. The Infiniti Q30 is based on the previous-generation A-Class, but lines up as a premium hatch to rival this crop. Yet the cabin is cramped, the 1.6 engine feels strained and it鈥檚 pricey, even compared with these models.

Former Formula One racer and Le Mans winner Mark Blundell has announced that he鈥檒l be driving in this season鈥檚 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Race wins in the US CART series followed along with more Le Mans drives before he turned his attention to his sports management business MB Partners, which mentors and manages elite and up-and-coming racing drivers. Speaking about his BTCC debut, Blundell said: 鈥淥nce the opportunity arose to get back behind the wheel, it was always something I was very keen to make happen. 鈥淚 have been lucky enough to have had a fantastic motor racing career to date and to have been a part of British motorsport for many years. Blundell will be lining up against BTCC veterans Jason Plato and Matt Neal as well as 2018 champion Colin Turkington and Nicolas Hamilton, brother of F1 champion Lewis. Since the beginning of the championship in 1958, F1 stars have been regular starters in BTCC. In the sixties Jim Clark crossed over to the tin-top series, while more recently Johnny Herbert, Derek Warwick, Jonathan Palmer and Nigel Mansell have also raced BTCC cars. The BTCC marks Blundell鈥檚 return to front-line motorsport for the first time in six years. It also marks the start of a new sponsorship package from a large global company, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks. 鈥淢y participation in the series has come about due to a hugely exciting partnership that we are looking forward to announcing in the coming weeks,鈥?said Blundell. What do you think of Mark Blundell's return to BTCC?

The cabin is mostly black, but it features an array of riviera blue accents, especially on the driver鈥檚 side. Everything is lined with Alcantara with decorative stitching, even the floor. High-gloss black decorative parts round off the interior upgrades. As with the GrandGT Supreme, the GrandGT Selective benefits from the TechArt Techtronic Powerkit for the Panamera Turbo. Consequently, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8鈥檚 output increases from 550 PS to 640 PS. Peak torque rises as well, from 770 Nm to 900 Nm. As a result, the tuned Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 306 km/h. Interestingly, there鈥檚 more to come from TechArt when it comes to the Porsche Panamera. The tuner will unveil a power kit for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid at the Essen Motor Show in December.

2019 Porsche Panamera Vs. 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman

With the Porsche Panamera you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Porsche 718 Cayman, due to its larger tank size and better fuel economy. There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Porsche Panamera will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Porsche 718 Cayman, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Porsche Panamera and the Porsche 718 Cayman have similar Destination Charges. Since the Porsche Panamera is much wider than the Porsche 718 Cayman, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Porsche Panamera, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Porsche 718 Cayman. With somewhat higher torque, the engine of the Porsche Panamera transmits a bit more power to the wheels than the Porsche 718 Cayman. The Porsche Panamera has a significantly larger turning radius than the Porsche 718 Cayman, making it much more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots. When it comes to horsepower, the Porsche Panamera is somewhat more powerful than the Porsche 718 Cayman. People who frequently chauffeur around a lot of people will appreciate the Porsche Panamera more than the Porsche 718 Cayman, due to its significantly greater seating capacity. With its significantly greater cargo capacity, the Porsche Panamera will be able to haul more equipment or luggage than the Porsche 718 Cayman.

Some can be easy, Some will be tough for sure. Its actually how one gets to handle the different situations defines the level of success one enjoys. Never worry about the situation you are in because that is already upon you. Instead ask yourself how can you win from here. Handling Disappointments: The Unexpected conversations in the above situations can also lead to disappointments. Handling disappointments successfully is as important as handling the successes in one's career. I found Don Shula's twenty-four hour rule quite relevant in managing disappointments at workplace. I had a twenty-four hour rule. I allowed myself, my coaches, and our players a maximum of twenty-four hours after football game to celebrate a victory or bemoan a defeat. During that time, everyone was encouraged to experience the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat as deeply as possible, while learning as much as we could from that same experience.

Once the twenty-four hour deadline had passed, we put it behind us and focused our energies on preparing for next opponent. For managing multiple tasks and passions at work and in life in general, it is important to be able to distinguish between the tasks you are merely interested in as against the tasks you are truly committed for. I learned from author and consultant Art Turock that we need to make a distinction between being interested and being committed. The quality to do what you have said you will do, in the time you have committed to must be applied to the smallest of tasks in your life. Is it possible to eliminate Globalization testing altogether? Although as a passionate professional, i may be biased in my views and opinions around this but this one is good to think further and investigate. I did respond with a "No" with some reasons around external dependencies and Product architecture and lot of other variable factors but this one certainly deserves a little bit more thought.

There was one more good question on what is the right ratio of Globalization testing vs English Testing. I would write about my perspective to these questions sometime soon. If you want to Learn about Software Globalization Engineering, one of the practical tools that i have come across is "World Ready Software Example", which can be found here . Originally designed to support only Windows 2000 and Windows XP, this tool actually works on Windows 7 to a good extent. You can actually try out several features of a fully Globalized application. What can you do with this tool ? You can check the Local formats like Date, Time, Currency, Calendar, Numbers from the loads of different locales. You can check the Multilingual User Interface feature and change the current language to any listed language at the run-time. You can simulate Pseudo Translation. You can simulate Pseudo Mirroring. Mirroring is the process of simulating the RTL (Right-to-Left languages like Arabic etc.). How does this tool look like ? I am back and on the time that i promised.

Breaks are always good and this one was no different. I got the invitation to present at Silicon India's SofTec 2011 Software Testing Conference and completed my presentation yesterday. The stage was not new for me having presented in 2010 edition as well(on the same stage). In 2010, i presented on "Globalization Testing- Getting your Software World Ready". This year it had to be different. Cloud is more of an in-phenomenon and more relevant to talk about in the Conference. I had developed a fascination for the similar topic earlier this year and thought i could build upon that. So my Topic for SofTec 2011 was- "The Emergence of Cloud Computing and Software Testing- A Perspective". Importance of Learning by Association. Associating the origin of Cloud computing with the Advent of Electricity. Basics of Cloud computing including Grid and Utility computing. Covering the business models around Cloud Computing- including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS. The inter-relation between Cloud Computing and Software Testing.

Brabus, along with their subsidiary Startech, have brought a great deal of luxury models to this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, from 900 PS beasts to sportier-looking Land Rovers. Taking center stage for Brabus was their latest take on the Mercedes-AMG G65, powered by a 900 PS 6.3-liter V12 engine, that also produces an incredible 1,500 Nm of torque. In case you missed our original story on this insanely-powerful G-Wagen, we'll remind you that it can get from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Yes, 3.9 seconds, and it's shaped like a brick. Another Brabus-tuned model that really stood out to us was the Ultimate E Concept, which also made its world debut at the IAA. Powered by an electric motor and a 22 kWh battery pack, this electrified Smart ForTwo has a range of 160 km and will get from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. If this sounds in any way unnatural, it's because the Ultimate E is packing a lot more power than your regular ForTwo. We're talking 204 PS and 350 Nm. That's Clio RS type of muscle in a car that weighs significantly less. Other models worth mentioning from Brabus were of course the classics, the luxury four-door models, convertibles, the 4x4 squared, and the 850 GLS-based Widestar, which is able to hit 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. As for Startech, they're less focused on power output and more inclined to make your premium or luxury SUV look like it might have all the power it would ever need.

You've finally decided to go for it and get that Porsche 911 you've always wanted. You also think it's a great time to take advantage of the fact that the Porsche 997 prices are sitting at pretty reasonable rates considering how much car you are going to get. Of course, everyone has their opinion to chime in with. So to keep from kicking off World War 3, we're going to stick to the known specs and lay down what the major differences are, staying away from how they feel or how they might drive. The Porsche 997 entry-level model Carrera can basically be broken down into four categories. Keep in mind that we're not talking about Turbo or GT(2 or 3) models. Both the Carrera and Carrera S got revised suspension, revised front bumpers, new headlamps, and redesigned Porsche sport exhausts. Probably the most significant change was the Tiptronic transmission being replaced by the introduction of the PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

2019 Porsche Panamera GTS: First Review

To differentiate the GTS version of the 2019 Porsche Panamera from its siblings, Porsche fits the Sport Design package as standard equipment. GTS models feature unique front and rear fascias with blackened components, black side skirts, gloss black window trim, and black badging - even the taillights have been tinted darker. Inside the cabin, standard Adaptive 18-way sport seats are upholstered in Alcantara and leather, with matching soft material on the armrests, doors, visors, pillars, and headliner (Note: Alcantara doesn鈥檛 breathe, so the cooled seats option requires perforated leather). GTS logos are emblazoned on the doorsills, head restraints and tachometer. Those seeking even more distinction may opt for the GTS Interior Package, with Carmine Red or Chalk-colored embroidering, matching seatbelts, and contrasting stitching. The passenger cabin boasts Porsche鈥檚 Advanced Cockpit, which is highlighted by a vivid 12.3-inch full-HD touch screen running the latest version of Porsche Communication Management (PCM). New on the options list for the Panamera is a high-resolution head-up display (HUD).

The full-color projection is fully customizable, effortless to use 鈥?literally a drag-and-drop process via PCM 鈥?and it puts all relevant information directly in the driver鈥檚 line-of-sight. The standard 3-chamber air suspension on the 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS works in conjunction with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) to deliver a comfortable, well-controlled ride. As expected, the overall tone falls on the sporty side of the ride spectrum 鈥?keeping in mind the enthusiast tune - but luxury is the dominant theme. Porsche鈥檚 fame is with race-winning sports cars, but the Panamera is a proper 4-season luxury grand tourer (one reason why the company doesn鈥檛 offer a rear-wheel-drive variant). The company鈥檚 engineers have gone to great lengths to eliminate road and tire roar, wind noise, and many other annoyances - isolation is a key ingredient. At highway velocities the cabin is quiet and comfortable (strict speed laws in Bahrain which hosted the GTS introduction limited us to just over 80 mph).

Individual) steering wheel-mounted dial, which includes the Sport Response Button - standard with Sport Chrono. Press it while underway and the Panamera GTS immediately reconfigures the drivetrain for maximum acceleration for a full 20 seconds (we call it the 鈥減oint-and-shoot passing button鈥?. It is unlikely that few, if any, Panamera GTS owners will venture onto a racing circuit, yet Porsche engineers have the exception covered as we noted during laps on the spectacular Bahrain International Circuit. Mass is the enemy on a track, as a vehicle鈥檚 engine, suspension and brakes must continuously battle to accelerate, stabilize and decelerate weight through the corners and straights. Most svelte sports coupes tip the scales at just over 3,100 pounds, but the Panamera GTS, a 4-place sedan, is a luxurious 4,400 pounds. Despite this handicap, and warm Middle East temps in the mid-80s, the Porsche never wavered. In fact, it did surprisingly well. Four-wheel steering, part of the optional Rear Axle Steering with Power Steering Plus package, improves agility in the twisty sections and stability on the straights.

And, with the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) package, an auxiliary 48-volt electrical system nearly eliminates body roll. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, included in PDCC Sport, ensures the driver鈥檚 steering inputs are followed thanks to an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential and torque vectoring - yes, the Panamera GTS will hang its tail out in a corner. The Panamera鈥檚 weight is most obvious in the fast sweeping corners where increasing the vehicle鈥檚 speed exceeds the physical grip of the tires - the sedan is pushed outward. Thankfully, the programming of Porsche Stability Management (PSM) keeps the four contact patches on the track, despite a few judgmental errors in our trajectory. Porsche鈥檚 own 4D Chassis Control (a sophisticated centralized network that is tasked with controlling the vehicle鈥檚 digital systems) works overtime to ensure that the driver鈥檚 requests are seamlessly followed. We really like the new Panamera GTS models as they deliver eye-opening performance (both body styles are equally as competent), innovation, technology, and luxury without compromise. Of course, this level of competency doesn鈥檛 come inexpensively. But if their 6-figure base price dissuades, don鈥檛 look at the GTS models as upgraded and enhanced standard models. 15,000 off the cost of a Panamera Turbo - how鈥檚 that for a value proposition?

Corolla SE hatchbacks get a more basic but acceptable instrument cluster with a vertical 4.2-inch display on the right side, whereas XSEs get a more modern 7.0-inch central digital display flanked by analog gauges. As much as we like the Corolla hatchback鈥檚 Blue Flame paint complementing the XSE鈥檚 bold rear spoiler and other exterior upgrades, many potential customers will stick with the SE. Even at that trim, Toyota throws in a bunch of standard equipment. Regardless of which Corolla hatch you get, it鈥檚 going to be a different driving experience compared to the aging sedan. Toyota鈥檚 latest compact hatchback class excels more at emotionally driven consideration points than practicality, an interesting choice in a surprisingly crowded segment that itself competes with subcompact crossovers. If you find yourself wanting a small hatch and a cozy interior isn鈥檛 a deal-breaker, give the Toyota a try before you drive away in a more spacious car like the strangely styled Civic hatch or the value-focused Elantra GT.

A significant change for the latest generation CR-V is that the Honda Sensing suite of safety systems is now fitted to all models, rather than being limited to the higher-specification versions. This includes forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assistance and automatic cruise control, plus traffic sign recognition amongst others. It鈥檚 a big boost to the CR-V鈥檚 safety credentials. The latest CR-V was tested by Euro NCAP in early 2019, and thanks to the standard-fit Honda Sensing system, it achieved a full five-star rating. It also earned an adult occupant protection score of 93 per cent, making it one of the safest cars in the compact SUV class. Although the CR-V has been changed significantly compared to the previous car, Honda vehicles generally offer a high level of reliability and owner satisfaction. The outgoing version came sixth out of 75 new cars in the 2018 Driver Power survey, so it鈥檚 likely the latest version will offer a similar level of ownership satisfaction. It could even do better, as the notable increase in quality throughout the car improves perceptions of the car鈥檚 quality. That鈥檚 particularly true of the cabin, with the use of higher grade materials, while the level of fit and finish remains high. The CR-V comes with the standard Honda warranty, which covers the vehicle for three years or 90,000 miles. A first-year service for the CR-V costs 拢210 for petrol or hybrid versions, while 4x4 models pay a small premium at 拢230. The second year major service is 拢280 or 拢300 respectively, which is slightly above average for this type of vehicle. Honda also offers a fixed-price service plan, which can spread the servicing cost over the first five years of ownership for around 拢900, saving around 拢300 compared to paying for each service individually.

Head of Porsche Motorsport Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser has revealed that 2019 is the next 鈥渨indow鈥?where it鈥檚 feasible to offer a new version of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, following the overwhelming sellout success of its first-generation GT4-based car. Nearly 500 Cayman GT4 Clubsports were sold over a one-year production run, with 120 of them now competing worldwide in SRO GT4-licensed championships, a platform which Walliser admits to being one of the key areas of growth in customer racing. With the Cayman GT4 type 981c out of production, the German manufacturer will have to wait until a new Cayman GT4 model road car is announced, likely around the current type 982 platform. We see growth everywhere. I would say, 鈥榊es, why not? 鈥?Walliser told Sportscar365. 鈥淎s we see, Audi is coming, Mercedes is coming, BMW is coming. Porsche is there. GT4 will grow. Porsche鈥檚 current model, which debuted in GT4 competition last year via a Manthey Racing-developed kit, has served as the performance baseline by the SRO, despite the arrival of more powerful and expensive cars into the category. Therefore, according to the Porsche GT boss, switching to another platform, such as a 911 for GT4 makes no sense. 鈥淪tephane Ratel fully agrees with us that with 120 cars in GT4 homologation in the market, you have the biggest number of cars, so you are the baseline. 鈥淚f people want to get a GT4, it makes sense for them to race it for three years without any major update,鈥?he said. 鈥淭hen we will see. Walliser said they plan to keep the Clubsport moniker for GT4, in order to build an identity similar to its 911 Cup car, which has been Porsche鈥檚 best-selling race car over the last two decades. The Clubsport and 911 Cup cars are joined by the 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR in Porsche鈥檚 customer racing offerings. 鈥淚鈥檓 happy we have a nice ladder that鈥檚 easy to understand,鈥?Walliser said. John Dagys is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Sportscar365 as well as the recently launched e-racing365 Web site for electric racing.
