2019 Porsche Macan Gets A Turbocharged Four-Cylinder Engine

What changes make the 2017 Porsche Macan different? 49,000. There鈥檚 also a new value in Macan high performance via a GTS version slotted between the S and top-line Turbo models. All but the base use twin-turbocharged V-6 engines but every 2017 model gains more standard equipment, including new safety features and updated infotainment systems. This premium-compact crossover SUV shares some of its underskin hardware with the Audi Q5 (Porsche and Audi and subsidiaries of Volkswagen). Porsche adds its own design and engineering touches, though, to give the Macan a distinct personality. Why should I buy a 2017? 8,800 less. More standard equipment on all models is also a draw. It includes a new infotainment system with standard satellite and HD Radio receivers. Porsche used to charge extra for these items, which you鈥檒l often find as standard equipment on vehicles costing less than half as much. Ascending from the new entry-level model, the 鈥?7 Macan lineup consists of the S, sport-themed GTS, and high-performance Turbo versions. Is the styling different?

Not meaningfully. The Macan line bowed for model-year 2015 in S and Turbo guise. With its black exterior accents, matte lower-body finish, and dark-tinged 20-inch alloy wheels, the GTS represents the main styling alteration so far. It鈥檚 also distinguished by a sport suspension that lowers ride height 0.4 inches compared with the Turbo. The Turbo has its own look, too, particularly in details of the grille and front fascia; Every Macan has a familial resemblance to the brand鈥檚 other SUV, the premium-midsize-class Cayenne. At the back, you can see some of the Audi Q5鈥檚 influence, but Porsche has done a solid job making the Macan distinct from its corporate cousin. Yes. The Base model introduces to the line a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque; it鈥檚 the same engine used in some Audis, including the redesigned 2017 A4 sedan and Q5. The S returns with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 of 340 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque.

The GTS upgrades that to 360 and 369, respectively. Turbo models get a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 with 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. All Macans use a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that behaves like a sport-calibrated conventional automatic. Also standard on all is a performance-tuned all-wheel drive (AWD) system. A number of wheel/tire combinations and other performance-enhancing upgrades are available. 1,385 on top of that upgrades it to an air suspension for all models. 2,930 extra for the other models. Does the fuel economy improve? Yes, thanks to the four-cylinder. EPA fuel-economy ratings for the 鈥?7 Macan line were unavailable in time for this review, but expect the Base model to rate around 19/27/22 mpg city/highway combined. The S and Turbo versions should return - somewhat remarkably, given their power differences - rating the same 17/23/19 mpg. Look for the GTS to better that by a smidge. Porsche will require premium-grade 91-octane gasoline for all.

Does it get new features? Yes. All 鈥?7 Macans get a new infotainment system with standard satellite and HD radio. Also newly standard across the board are a rearview camera, front- and rear-obstacle detection, and lane-departure warning. While the extra safety and convenience features are appreciated, there鈥檚 still a laundry list of options that will cost you plenty. How are 2017 prices different? 2,100 increases on the S and Turbo, respectively, over their 2016 counterparts. 125,000. It鈥檚 hard to be judicious since many desirable features cost so much extra. The steep price of entry is balanced somewhat by Porsche鈥檚 stellar reputation for reliability, resale value, and customer service. When does it come out? The 2017 Porsche Macan S, GTS, and Turbo are arriving at dealers now. What changes would make it better? Porsche is right to expand standard equipment, but we鈥檇 still like to see the automaker include even more content in base prices; it could begin with blind-spot alert and full leather upholstery. It鈥檚 difficult to fault the driving experience. Macan is arguably the most entertaining SUV of any kind. As a relatively affordable entry point, the four-cylinder should sell well and it鈥檚 handling is likely to be up to snuff, even if acceleration does less than full justice to the brand鈥檚 sporty image.

2019 Porsche Macan Road Test

When Porsche launched their first SUV back in 2004, brand loyalists howled. The idea that a carmaker rooted in building finely crafted, uncompromising sports cars would dilute the brand DNA with something so suburban and mainstream was simply too much for Porsche purists to bear. Fast forward a decade: The midsized Cayenne SUV is now Porsche's top-selling model and more than a few of those loyalists have found room for one alongside the 911 in their garage. More importantly, it opened the Porsche brand to a new breed of customer who never previously would have considered Stuttgart steel. With the Macan compact crossover, Porsche has broadened their SUV catalog. Targeted at competitors like the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Macan leans more toward sport than utility in the SUV equation. With handling, acceleration, and braking performance that put most sports sedans to shame, the Macan is easily the most thrilling SUV we've tested. The 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in our Macan S delivers effortless power, mated to an automated manual transmission that fires off quick, decisive shifts punctuated by a race-ready exhaust bark. The BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, and Lexus NX don't even come close to that thrust.

For all its commitment to performance, the Macan still manages to deliver a measure of utility. Standard all-wheel drive and all-season tires make it a viable four-season vehicle, and the split-folding rear seats add cargo versatility. There's room for five friendly passengers in the quiet, luxurious, and impeccably finished interior, with comfortable and well-shaped seats up front. So, what's not to like? The Macan doles out rear seat room with the frugality of the Bundesbank. The same goes for the cargo area. Visibility is limited by a small rear window. As you would expect for a sports-car-meets-SUV, fuel economy is a thirsty 19 mpg overall. The Macan doesn't come cheap. Then again, what did you expect? It's a Porsche. Although the Macan has a base price a few pfennigs shy of 50 large, it is pretty much impossible to find one so equipped on dealer lots. 63,290 -- considerably more than any of its competitors. Adding a few options can drive up the price almost as quickly as the Macan accelerates. Even something as basic as a rear camera, standard on many mainstream cars, is a pricey option on the Macan. Still, if you categorize the Macan as a high-performance, all-wheel-drive hatchback, rather than a weekend workhorse for lumber runs, it is a very appealing, albeit pricey, package. And compared to some other Porsche models, it may even be something of a relative bargain.

Senior car industry figures were in London last week for the annual two-day Financial Times Future of the Car Summit. But when it came to the crunch question on whether he was aware that talks had taken place between PSA and JLR鈥檚 current owner Tata, Speth鈥檚 response was limp at best. There is an increasing belief that JLR might well benefit from a switch of owner. Acquisition by PSA would lead to a brutal period of cost-cutting, for sure, but it could deliver profits for Jaguar and Land Rover just as quickly as the rapid turnaround delivered at Opel and Vauxhall during the past 18 months. A PSA deal - or, for that matter, a switch to ownership by a major Chinese manufacturer - would also open Jaguar and Land Rover to a wider pool of technologies than either brand presently gets from Tata. Discovery Sport now, at launch, instead of in six or nine months鈥?time. If anything, though, Speth鈥檚 attitude to partnerships with other brands was what drew the deepest gasps at the FT Summit. 鈥淵ou can talk about economies of scale and that鈥檚 correct,鈥?he said, 鈥渂ut on the other hand, there鈥檚 the freedom we have to develop and do our own strategy in a fast way, a structured way. His dedication to independence is admirable, in a way. But with car makers facing huge bills for developing EV technology, it鈥檚 hard to find anyone in the industry who thinks that JLR鈥檚 relative isolation makes any sense at all. Do you think Jaguar Land Rover could benefit from a change of owner?

Geely has taken a 50 per cent stake in the Smart city car brand from parent company Daimler, it has been confirmed. The pair will build a new generation of all-electric Smart models by 2022, with production taking place at Geely鈥檚 purpose-built factory in China. As part of its expansion strategy, Geely and Daimler will also broaden the Smart range into the B-segment market, producing a premium rival for the Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo and Audi A1 Sportback, it has emerged. Until 2022, Daimler will continue to build the current Smart EQ ForTwo and EQ ForFour at its facilities in Hambach, France and Novo Mesto, Slovenia respectively. From 2022 Daimler鈥檚 Hambach plant will begin construction of a new EQ-branded compact electric car, following a 鈧?00 million investment by Mercedes-Benz. Daimler鈥檚 Chairman of the Board, Dieter Zetsche, said: 鈥淲e look forward to further enhancing the brand with Geely Holding, a strong partner in the electric vehicle segment. Geely鈥檚 new partnership with Daimler Auto Group follows its recent 拢6.4 billion investment in the German company. Over the last decade, Geely has taken total financial control of Volvo, Polestar, the London Taxi Company, Lynk & Co and Yuan Cheng Auto, as well as partially financial control of Proton and Lotus.

The Audi SQ5 has done rather well for itself scoring positive points in most reviews. Seen as how it鈥檚 a fast, techy and practical SUV, its success is easy to comprehend. It all starts with the 3.0-liter TFSI V6 unit underneath the hood, sending 354 PS to all four wheels, along with 500 Nm of torque. It can hit 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and 96 km/h in 5.1 seconds. However, where some see handsomeness and elegance in its subdued looks, others see the need for something more accute. It鈥檚 not a bad-looking SUV, but it won鈥檛 get your attention either, unlike this version by Lumma Design. The tuner gave the SQ5 a more expressive attire, thanks to the addition of the CLR 5S body kit. It consists of a front spoiler extension, wheel arch extensions front and rear, integrated side skirt under-splitters, rear skirt extension, custom diffuser, custom door paneling, square exhaust pipes with the Lumma logo, custom wheels and an optional rear spoiler lip. All the parts are made from high quality PUR-RIM plastics and help give this SQ5 a considerably more menacing stance, from all angles.

Is The 15 Grand Difference Between The Porsche Macan S And The GTS Really Justifiable

Porsche is kicking out more than 1000 units of the Macan to the US market every month. Not bad for a car company specialized in performance cars production. Porsche did lose the unique appeal it once had due to a sheer number of cars produced, but it still is a sort of a special brand in the industry. The Macan is not exactly the car Porsche fans craved after, but all others apparently did and Porsche delivered. The Cayenne passed the SUV genes down the line giving the Macan a proper look, and the personality associated with high-end Porsches. Now, the fun part starts. The Macan is about to receive a bunch of different versions in the next five years. Every Porsche does, so why leave the Macan out! After the Macan S and the Macan Turbo, the US car market recently became richer for the Macan GTS. We all know that the GTS is basically an upgrade over the S in the Porsche world.

Every car (except the 918 Spyder of course) is available with the GTS package. In short - it is like having a classic Porsche S car but with all dials turned up a few notches. Closing the gap between the Macan S and the Macan Turbo, the GTS received a few interesting touches. First up, the Porsche cranked up the power. 340 hp from the S became 360 hp, with the 339 lb-ft of torque going all the way up to 369 lb-ft of torque. Quite an impressive jump for the torque. Although, we are quite sure that this torque is available in short bursts when the pedal is pressed all the way down. Not that we have anything against it. As for some other elements, the Porsche Macan GTS took a whole lot from the Turbo. The seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission combined with the Traction Management system (PTM) is only a slightly recalibrated feature from the Turbo. The S has it too, but here it is a tad more ferocious as it is in the Turbo. Basically, the front wheels will definitely be more at work as the system is calibrated to send the power to it more often than usual. Coupling this with the increased power and optional Sport Chrono package gets us to a car capable of cracking 60 mph in 4,8 seconds. Fine for a compact SUV. Now, increasing the price from 52 grand to 67 grand is a bit daft from Porsche, but they give something in return. Not only did the engine get a power boost and suspension upgrade, but the cosmetics were changed, too. What you will not forget is the PCM (Porsche Communication Management system) with the Sound Package Plus (eight speakers, a USB and aux-in interface, SiriusXM and HD radio, and Bluetooth capability).

In fact, the 3.8 liter flat-six is even beefier than before with an extra 40 horsepower. But the very phrase 鈥渘atural-fibre鈥?has a nice, environmental tone about it. And that鈥檚 enough for most people. The 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport comes in two 鈥淭rackday鈥?and 鈥淐ompetition鈥?variants. The former is for the more novice gentleman driver, whereas the latter is aimed at the more experienced drivers. That is why the Trackday costs 134,000 EUR, and the Competition 157,000 EUR. They share a 425 horsepower flat-six engine, Porsche dual-clutch gearbox with six gears and mechanical rear axle differential lock. What 鈥淐lubsport鈥?models represent is the true essence of Porsche. If you are a real Porsche aficionado you should steer clear of the road-going sports model. Just get a Cayenne or a Panamera for daily driving, and a Cayman GT4 or a track version of the 911 for driving fun. A regular Cayman is like a fine cigarette, whereas this Clubsport model is a full Churchill-sized Cuban cigar paired with a double espresso!

A facelifted version of the BMW X1 has been revealed. Changes to the brand鈥檚 entry-level SUV include tweaked looks, fresh technology, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time. The company claims the design has been 鈥榖uffed and polished鈥?for 2019; there鈥檚 a larger kidney grille, new bumper, and redesigned LED lights. In addition, BMW has added two-tone LED puddle lights for the door mirrors, which project an 鈥橷1鈥?image to the ground below. Three new exterior colours and four new wheel designs complete the exterior updates. Inside there鈥檚 some new trim, as well as BMW鈥檚 latest ConnectedDrive technology. There are three new upholstery options, taking the total number of colour and material combinations to 13. Flagship M Sport models get 鈥楳icro Hexagon鈥?fabric with special M piping. UK specs haven鈥檛 been confirmed, but entry-level cars are expected to feature a 8.8-inch infotainment screen as standard, with a 10.25-inch Touch Control Display offered as an option. BMW鈥檚 ConnectedDrive services add 鈥榗onvenience-enhancing鈥?functions including Real Time Traffic Information and a Concierge Service that allows you to book and pay for things on the move. Apple CarPlay and a full-colour Head-up Display should both feature on a lengthy list of extras. The entry-level X1 sDrive 18i SE costs 拢28,795, with the M Sport model commanding a premium of 拢3,550. You鈥檒l need to step up to the 20i model for xDrive all-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox (from 拢33,475), while diesels cost from 拢30,545 (sDrive18d SE). The range tops out at 拢38,145 for an xDrive20d M Sport. All models apart from the PHEV are available to order now; the plug-in goes on sale in March, priced from around 拢35,000. Do you like the look of the facelifted BMW X1?

Porsche Macan Review

The Porsche Macan is a luxury sports SUV that comes in 5 different trim levels with a variety of petrol and diesel engines. The range starts with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and goes up 3.6L V6 engine. Pricing starts at 拢46,850 for the standard model and rises to 拢70,800 for the range-topping Performance Turbo. Here are the best video reviews of the Porsche Macan, including a summary of the pros and cons of each one. Mat Watson from Carbuyer starts his review by saying how much he loves the Macan. He thinks it's the best mid-sized premium SUV you can buy. He praises how easy and enjoyable it is to drive and also how good it is on fuel. Mat describes the Macan's interior as 'beautiful'. He makes mention of the quality materials used inside, but isn't pleased with the amount of buttons on the centre console. Mat explains how the suspension can be adjusted with the touch of a button to make the car comfortable over bumps, or you can lower it to make the car feel more sporty.

There's lots of legroom available in the back of the Macan, but headroom is limited if you choose the optional panoramic sunroof. Mat also demonstrates the flat-folding back seats that add even more space if required. Mat is shocked that bluetooth is an optional extra. He also mentions that the off-road function in the Macan isn't as good as in the Range Rover Evoque. Video 2 - Whatcar? Darren Moss from Whatcar? Macan and states that it's the perfect sports SUV. He loves how well it drives, along with how comfortable and quiet it can be. With that being said, he's not impressed with the price of some of the optional extras. Darren is pleased with the well-made interior. He likes the materials used and loves the leather seats. He does however mention that the panel that covers the CD drive feels 'flimsy'. Darren finds the Macan to be quiet and comfortable when driving and he loves the diesel engine that he has in his test car. Darren likes the various storage compartments that are located around the car. In terms of rear passenger space, Darren thinks that rivals have more room.

Darren demonstrates how easy it is to set up Bluetooth in the car. He then shows the viewer how to use Apple Car Play, but then mentions that the Audi Q5's infotainment set up is better. James Cleary from Carsguide really likes the Macan. James talks about the beautifully made cabin and says how nice everything feels. He also mentions the good, comfortable leather seats and the high quality finish to the materials used inside the car. James enjoys driving the Macan. He likes the smooth automatic gearbox and he is impressed with how comfortable the car is to drive on the road. James states that the back seats are spacious and that the boot is adequate for its size. He likes the fact that the middle rear seat has a folding armrest inside with two large cup holders. Standard technology includes a 10-speaker audio system, 3 zone climate control, auto parking and several USB ports. James is very impressed with these features. Andy Pringle from Auto Trader states that the Macan is more "sports car than SUV". He praises its sleek and sporty look, but mentions that some external features such as the wheels and side skirts are very expensive extras. Andy is impressed with the electrically operated seats, and the 911-like driving position. He describes the interior as being "classic Porsche" and speaks highly of the plush materials inside. Andy highlights this a potential problem. He goes then on to talk about how comfortable the car is to drive on the road, and that it's good off-road too.

The GTS chooses the gist of this Cayman up a degree and starts to measure the feet of their 911 Carrera, together with similar performance amounts and striking tackling. The 20-19 Porsche Cayman gt-s is powered with a 4 liter 2.5-litre engine which creates 365 hp and 430 Nm of torque. This power travels into the back wheels with a 6-speed manual gear box. The GTS could accelerate from 0-62 MPH in 4.6 minutes, on a top rate of 180 MPH. Expected mph is approximately 28 on a joint cycle, even with the CO2 figures approximately 2-10 g/km. How Can IT DRIVE? Get driving of this 20-19 Porsche Cayman gt-s and first thing you鈥檒l see is the way implanted the car feels. The plan helps to ensure that the middle of gravity is still quite low and also the version is just like it鈥檚 stuck into the tarmac. This, then, inspires confidence in the driver, specially when handling flowing corners. This experience has been further enhanced with its absolutely engineered steering set.

The feedback is indeed good you will soon be in touch with the automobile in almost no time in any way. The handling set up of this automobile is ideal! There鈥檚 also a great deal of urgency when it has to do with power shipping. That is readily controlled by the motorist so that flying is a piece of cake. However, while you would like to really go fast or perform some over taking, the 20-19 Porsche Cayman gt-s delivers break-neck rolling speed that鈥檒l surprise supercar owners. Once you pass the traffic, consuming the available road is strictly what that the 20-19 Porsche Cayman gt-s was created for. It鈥檚 really a bit stiffer and thinner compared to the S, however it鈥檚 still comfortable on long drives. Even the Cayman gt-s will out perform cars above its power class daily on A Roads due to the way it can hold speeds right into and out of corners with absolute ease.

2019 Porsche Macan S Long-Term Road Test

There's a guy that lives in a modest white farmhouse about 50 miles south of Salt Lake City. His house is visible from I-15, as it sits just a few hundred yards west of the interstate, and it's the absolute perfect backdrop for his ride. Sitting in front of this man's house was his car. His beautiful car. Parked under a tree. On the grass. Within spitting distance of his front door. There sat a near perfect replica of Bo and Luke Duke's General Lee. An orange 1969 Dodge Charger artistically festooned with a "01" on each door and the now-controversial stars and bars on its roof. I could even make out the correct push bar on the nose and of course the classic Mopar's 15-inch black and silver Vector wheels. I was in awe. See full article and comment. Our 2015 Porsche Macan S comes standard with all-wheel drive.

Included is this gauge which shows torque-split in real time. It's constantly dancing around in ways that approximate how it's distributing torque to where grip is most needed. That sending torque to the wheels with the most grip is an inarguable point. Whether you need to know what it's doing, or more philosophically whether you need to see it, is less clear. See full article and comment. Our long-term 2015 Porsche Macan S passed the 15,000-mile mark while Scott was driving through Utah. More about his trip will be coming soon. See full article and comment. One of the nicest things about a Porsche 911 (such as our former long-termer) is sliding into its snug cabin. The seat pulls you in and hugs you tight. And off you go. See full article and comment. 2015 Porsche Macan: The Best Porsche? Is the 2015 Macan S the best Porsche? Well, the existence of the 911, Cayman, Boxster and their great many great variations would indicate otherwise. So too would the usually merry band of monogrammed polo shirt-wearing Porschephiles who would surely threaten my very existence should I be serious about answering my rhetorical question in the affirmative.

See full article and comment. Our 2015 Porsche Macan S's fuel economy nudged ever so slightly up in February and we (or rather, I) managed to set a new mpg tank record. Unfortunately, neither is especially impressive. See full article and comment. I'm surprised that the start/stop system in our 2015 Porsche Macan S isn't smoother, mostly because everything else in this performance SUV is excessively precise. From the sharp-shifting transmission to the buttons on the steering wheel, most everything works with a click or a snap. See full article and comment. Loading the 2015 Porsche Macan S with miscellaneous stuff seems almost sacrilegious. But then, if Porsche didn't want you to use their vehicles for mundane tasks, why would they build a "low-priced" SUV? See full article and comment. My Giant XTC hard tail is a fairly big mountain bike. Confusingly, small Giant bicycles exist, but mine truly fits the name: it's an XL-sized frame and it rolls on 29-inch wheels. Despite its dimensional bigness, it fits in the back of our 2015 Porsche Macan, but only just. See full article and comment.

When we got our 2015 Porsche Macan S back from Stokes Tire Repair, they had balanced all of the tires to the recommended spec. Our Macan's TPMS measures the psi as the vehicle is moving. But unlike our long-term Mini Cooper it performs this action very quickly. It's complete by the time I get out of our parking garage. And if I leave the display on the instrument panel, it keeps adjusting on the fly. See full article and comment. Our 2015 Porsche Macan S isn't the biggest SUV on the block. Trading the size of the Cayenne for the extra maneuverability and fuel efficiency is generally a tradeoff I'm happy with and I generally like SUVs. See full article and comment. When I got into our long-term 2015 Porsche Macan S in the morning, the TPMS went off immediately. It said the right rear tire was down 7 psi. I got out to look it over and found a large nail embedded in it. See full article and comment.

The 2019 Porsche Cayman gets a new exterior color, Satin Metal Grey Metallic. Additionally, hatchback models at the moment are out there with the diesel engine. Imagine plaid seats in a European car with a liftgate and you might start spelling out the letters V-O-L in your mind. It is a signature trait on the Volkswagen Golf GTI, after all. But there鈥檚 another model from another automaker that鈥檚 bringing the option to America. When Volvo revealed the new V60 wagon, it showcased it with a plaid upholstery option. The assumption was that the option wouldn鈥檛 make it to America. But as AutoGuide points out that, the option has now been added to the US configurator. Called 鈥淏lond City Weave Textile Upholstery,鈥?it adds a modern plaid pattern to the seats and door panels, complemented by beige leather trim. Looks pretty stylish to us. Customers can alternatively opt for black, tan, medium brown, or dark brown leather. What鈥檚 more is that the tartan trim can only be had on the Momentum model. The luxed-up Inscription trim comes only with leather, though the choices broaden here to include perforated Nappa leather as well. What鈥檚 surprising is that the lower-level XC40 - the first model in the new entry-level series - can鈥檛 be had with the plaid option. Only leather. But the red hide looks rather tantalizing to our eyes. Nor can you get the tartan upholstery on the XC60, which is positioned alongside the V60 in Volvo鈥檚 latest mid-level lineup. Both the Momentum and Inscription versions of the new V60 come, for the time being, only in T6 AWD trim. The 2.0-liter turbo four generates 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. That鈥檚 in the US. Overseas, buyers can also choose from the lower-level T5 model, with the same engine producing 247 hp and 350 Nm of torque, or from a pair of diesels. Expect either or both of the T6 and T8 鈥淭win-Engine鈥?AWD hybrids to follow, with electrically assisted versions of that same engine kicking out a combined 250 hp and 350 Nm or 299 hp and 400 Nm.

New 2019 Porsche Macan GTS

Those who prefer to blaze a trail of their own don鈥檛 need to follow the lead of others. We鈥檙e thinking specifically about cars known as compact SUVs, characterized by five doors, five seats, all-wheel drive - and, of course, a higher sitting position. But aren鈥檛 they lacking a certain something? Something that adds a little life, lets us enjoy a more intimate relationship with the road and delivers intense driving pleasure. A concept that boasts plenty of space for hobbies, leisure and sport. But no room for compromise. Compact, concentrated and intensive, but still powerful. Practical, but never ordinary. Porsche. Utterly unlike any vehicle you'll ever drive. And Porsche Centre Vancouver is like no other dealership you'll ever drive into. When it comes to the finest in workmanship, technology and exclusivity, you'll want to come to Porsche. So when it comes to buying or servicing your Porsche, we want you to come to Porsche Centre Vancouver. Our certified sales professionals, the most highly trained service technicians in the industry, and an ongoing commitment to customer care all set us apart from the crowd. The facility is centrally located at 688 Terminal Avenue near Main Street with ample customer parking, green rooftop areas and spectacular city views. Porsche Centre Vancouver is Vancouver's certified Porsche dealership and service centre owned and operated by Dilawri Group of Companies, Canada鈥檚 largest automotive group.

Masterfully blending luxury, sport and utility, each of the fierce competitors is brimming with technology and innovation, not to mention volumes of excess poundage. Realizing that weight is the Achilles heel in this segment, the team at Porsche decided to get up off the sofa and do something about the problem. Porsche's engineering team didn't just accept minor liposuction, they axed the fat off. The weight was shed from the body structure and wheels (lots more aluminum), but most of it was lifted when the Cayenne received a new electronically-controlled all-wheel drive system. All told, Porsche shaved roughly 400 pounds off the Cayenne's curb weight (yes, the weight loss works out to 4,177 Twinkies). On the scale, the new Cayenne S weighs 4,553 pounds while the Cayenne Turbo is 4,784 pounds. For comparison, the BMW X5 xDrive48i spins the dial to 5,335 pounds and the flagship X5 M simply flattens the gauge at 5,368 pounds. The Mercedes-Benz ML550 is 4,883 pounds, while the ML63 AMG weighs in at 5,093 pounds.

Low mass translates to better performance. Porsche says the 2011 Cayenne S model needs just 5.6 seconds to hit 60 mph (top speed is 160 mph) while the Turbo rockets to 60 mph in a conservative 4.4 seconds (top speed: 172 mph). Fuel economy numbers have not been released, but the automaker says we can expect double-digit percentage improvements. As previously mentioned, our introduction to the all-new Porsche Cayenne was, interestingly enough, at the racetrack. This is no ordinary circuit - Barber Motorsports Park is a huge racing facility just outside Birmingham, Alabama. Opened in 2003, it features a beautifully manicured 16-turn, 2.3-mile road course that shames our West Coast facilities (if the Four Seasons hotel chain inexplicably dove into auto racing, this would be its inaugural facility). In addition to the very visible main circuit, hidden within the surrounding woods are countless off-road courses on the 740-acre property, which provided plenty of mud, ruts, hills and water obstacles.

And yes, it's home to the Porsche Sport Driving School. We've driven the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG and BMW X5 M (and X6 M) on the track more than once. Although all were plenty fast, the excitement level of driving 2.5-ton SUVs, even those "race-prepared" models, around a road circuit is akin to shooting glass bottles with a Nerf gun. It simply doesn't get our adrenalin flowing. Minutes later, we are strapped into the bolstered front left seat of the Cayenne. Maneuvering through the corners, we expect body roll, squealing tires and understeer, but the Cayenne fails to deliver the bad news. Instead, it seems to land on its feet with the competence of a luxury sport sedan (it felt like we were driving a BMW 5 Series). Flat in the corners, the center of gravity feels two feet lower (it isn't) as we smoothly flow around the track. This is crazy; the Cayenne has forgotten that it is a sport utility vehicle.

2019 Porsche Macan S (Pictures, Price, Performance And Specs)

The new model features a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine generating 348 horsepower (260kW) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. As with the recently announced 2019 Porsche Macan, the new Macan S benefits from all of the same updates as its four-cylinder sibling. These include a continuous LED light bar at the rear, and the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 10.9-inch touchscreen replacing the previous 7-inch screen PCM used in older models. Starting with the 2019 model year, the Porsche Macan S features a new engine shared with the Panamera, Cayenne, and Cayenne E-Hybrid models. The new V6 is equipped with a single twin-scroll turbocharger located centrally in the inner-V of the engine. This layout shortens the exhaust paths from the combustion chambers to the turbocharger, improving responsiveness as compared to the previous powertrain. With twin-scroll technology, the exhaust gasses feed continuously into the turbine wheel as separate streams and significantly reduce charge cycle disadvantages. Porsche also made several chassis revisions as a part of the Macan facelift. As before, the Macan features staggered front and rear wheels and tires along with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive as standard.

On the front axle, strut forks made from aluminum replace the previous steel components to complement the already-existing aluminum links of the front suspension. This reduces unsprung mass, making steering on the Macan more precise and giving it a more comfortable suspension. Newly tuned anti-roll bars also ensure more neutral handling. As before, the Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM) active damper control system, height-adjustable air suspension with optimized rolling pistons and new shock absorber hydraulics, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) are optionally available to advance the model鈥檚 dynamics. Drivers will also notice a marked advancement in brake pedal feel. The new pedal in question weighs around 300 g less than the previous steel part, and connects to the brake master cylinder via a shortened lever arm. The result is improved brake responsiveness and a precise pressure point because of the firm connection. Furthermore, the new Macan S gains larger front brake discs.

The new rotors gain 10 mm in diameter and are 2 mm thicker to measure 360 mm by 36 mm. All new brake pads are copper-free. The Macan S can also be equipped with the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB). The Macan S also benefits from all the innovations included in the latest facelift. LED headlights are now included as standard, while Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) is optional. The PCM system is fitted as standard including online navigation with real-time traffic information through HERE Cloud, two audio interfaces, a mobile phone connection and intelligent voice control. Other standard features include Porsche Connect Plus (with LTE phone module and SIM card reader), a Wi-Fi hotspot and an array of new Porsche Connect services. A subscription is required after an initial 12-month trial period. Some functions may require separate subscriptions, or data charges may apply. Traffic Jam Assist is newly available as an option. The system is available in conjunction with the optional adaptive cruise control and offers drivers the convenience of bringing the car to a complete stop then resuming driving during a traffic jam. 1,050 delivery, processing and handling fee. The new Macan S is available for order now and is expected to reach U.S.

It got this because of safety elements. The base model will accompany security and footing control, airbags, automated stopping devices, coordinated blindspot mirrors and rearview camera with back stopping sensors. Discretionary hardware incorporates a blind side checking framework with back cross activity ready, path takeoff cautioning and mediation, forward impact cautioning and crash alleviation and programmed braking with walker identification. Standard motor with all Lincoln MKX 2017 models is 3.7-liter actually suctioned V6 motor. This Engine conveys 303 drive with 278 lb-ft of torque. Second motor is twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that can create 335 steeds and 380 lb-ft of torque. Both motors come matched with 6-speed SelectShift programmed transmission and oar shifters mounted on directing wheel. Power will be exchanged to front wheels while all-wheel-drive framework will be an alternative. Be that as it may, with this powertrain its mileage ought to associate with 20 mpg of joined driving relying upon picked motor and drivetrain. 60,000 for Black Label trim with 2.7liter Eco Boost V6 with AWD frame work.

In terms of investment, the MSRP pales in comparison to ever increasing sales prices. 1 million. Many factors have contributed to this unprecedented jump in demand, the first involves several high-profile accidents which have added to the mystique. After developing working plans for the 1999 LeMans road-racing season, Porsche was caught left-footed when FIA and ACO, the two international governing bodies of road-racing, made some rule changes that directly impacted Porsche鈥檚 original 911 GT1/LMP1-98 race cars. One of the key changes made by the FIA/ACO dealt with turbocharging and Porsche, something near and dear to the race developer鈥檚 heart. Meantime, because of the changes forced upon it, Porsche developed a new engine for the race car, now the Carrera GT. The powerplant was to be a V10 engine. It may seem like Porsche was the king of the air-cooled/water-cooled/rear-mounted flat six, but that wasn鈥檛 exactly true. 440,000. The powerplant now took center stage and the development team upped its size to 5.7 liters in the nearly 1,300 that were built. Testing was begun on the Carrera about the middle of the year, but, you had to know this was a sleek bubble that wouldn鈥檛 last.

In my view- In any Service related profession, more than anything else, the overall Value should always be upwardly mobile. Value from the testing group as such is perceived differently by different people who we work with and provide our Services. Testing (can be) for Discovery, pinpointing, Locating, determining significance, repairing, troubleshooting and testing to learn. As I mentioned in the beginning, the above description represents and close to Ideal world situation. Is it really possible to have the clear distinction between pinpointing and testing? I think No, its not possible to create that distinction especially when we consider the product from a black-box perspective. If we do White-box testing, it is possible to have some sort of clear distinction. I think more or less every good bug report has some level of Troubleshooting done. But 鈥渟ome level of troubleshooting鈥?is often not as accurate as 鈥減inpointing鈥? Pinpointing just helps the developer to reach the faulty lines of code, identify the problem and fix it.

Apparently, in a product with millions of lines of code reaching that faulty line of code is a very tedious job (sometimes a mystery!). If a tester helps a developer do that, then we have a delighted customer (i.e. if at all we treat him/her as a customer. From test perspective, it is again the amount of cost we are willing to spend to reach this level of delight. Again, it leads to the eternal question- 鈥渨hat is our mission鈥? In short, it is not possible to have that clear distinction between pinpointing and testing in our kind of test setup. Does the time-limit heuristic usually work always ? Gerald Weinberg also talks about Time-limit heuristic. According to this, the test team member sets a time limit and communicate to the Development team on how much time can they spend on the Development specific investigation. Beyond this time, the onus is on the Development team to figure out.

Since this is a heuristic and not a rule, its quite hard to define the time-limit. Only way it can work is if we make it as a rule i.e. Test team would not spend more than 1 man-day or whatever is the limit and track it accordingly. Doing so (without prior agreement) , will cause some grim repercussions including the relations with Development team. Having said this, testers don鈥檛 have endless time at their disposal. So, till the time there are a formal guidelines around this, it's good to make the Development team (requesting the pinpointing Service) aware of the extent we can help without causing the Testing schedule in Jeopardy. If the bug is reproducible, to what extent should the test team help the dev pinpoint the bug? The greater degree of conflict (regarding pinpointing) between Dev and Test arises when the bug is reproducible 100% of time. Ideally, the Dev should Investigate, debug and figure out where the bug is in the code with some help from Test team. If the bug is non-reproducible then there is even finer distinction between Bug detecting and bug pinpointing.

2019 Porsche Macan GTS Price, Specs, Review

In recent years the Macan came out with many models, here we will talk about the 2017 Porsche Macan GTS. What makes it so special? Does it have something more and better to offer than the previous models? All the information you need to know about whether it is worth it or not is right here. It has a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 unit with 360 hp and is a crossover between the Macan S and the best Turbo for all of the practical enthusiasts out there. Just after one ride, it is no doubt that this is the best Macan has to offer. It鈥檚 new and improved reflexes are just perfect, and the ride is so smooth and comfortable. With just enough power from the four cylinders, this is a perfect ride all around. On the road, it is not as strong as the Turbo, but it id stronger than the Macan S. It gives a reasonable amount of power and stroke on the engine to give a roar and feel rather strong.

It speeds off like driving in the clouds; that鈥檚 just how comfortable the ride is with the 2017 Porsche Macan GTS. It has an efficient and reliable seating area with a large space. Passengers are always comfortable, able to enjoy their ride to the full extent. Not feeling bumps and frills is also a great plus point for the driver and the passengers as well. There isn鈥檛 much space in the cargo, and with seats available for only four adults, critics say that the GTS seems expensive for this reason. It is good enough for what it is. But truly, it is because of this model that the Macan seems like a Porsche in driving. It has that special kick that Porsche always had. With a great engine, a great interface, a Supreme exterior and a comfortable interior, we are struggling to see how this could ever be a deal breaker in any case.

It has great potential, and you are bound to love it once you drive it. It has that charisma and smooth sailing rides that will invite your attention. It offers an exceptional reliability with a good price tag, so you know you are not wasting anything. It is more than worth every penny it is sold for. With all the great basic safety features, and the awesome specs as written above, how can one turn away from the 2017 Porsche Macan GTS? It鈥檚 simple. No one can. Its price range might be more than that of the S models, but it is still less than that of the previous model of Turbo. It has a reasonable price for what it鈥檚 got to offer and since is stood between both of those models regarding features anyway, getting a place among them regarding price range seems rather rational. This model is often compared to a Mercedes car which was released in 2016, called the AMG GLA45. But truth be told, the Porsche is much more refined and suitable for drivers of all types.

You might be competitive now, but do you feel welcome as an investor, and do you feel confident about the positions? In an attack on those who considered a no-deal Brexit feasible or desirable, Hawes said: 鈥淭here are new proposals coming out politically every day. Addressing the idea that German car companies would put pressure on their government for fear of losing UK sales, Hawes said 鈥淯tter, utter nonsense. Turning to another common refrain among those who see Brexit as opening up new trade deals, Hawes said: 鈥淲hen we leave, we still have to operate with our biggest market by far under the rules Europe sets. At the moment, we have a seat at the table, we can influence those rules. The other major regulatory hub is obviously Washington. Should we do a free trade deal with America? I can鈥檛 ever see us having a seat at the table. They set their rules. What do you think of the "deeply depressing" UK car manufacturing decline?

2019 Porsche Macan Road Test Review

Porsche Macan was released nearly five years ago. That's forever in car years, and Porsche finally decided that the time had come for a "mid-cycle" refresh: a raft of small improvements that should keep the Macan fresh until the next major redesign comes around. To test that theory, we flew to the middle of the Mediterranean to take the new 2019 Porsche Macan for a spin. After a day of navigating Palma de Mallorca's narrow, twisting cliff-side roads, and dodging packs of cyclists, we can confirm that Porsche's small SUV is still one of the best in class. Despite being a crossover, it does what all Porsches do best: deliver a great, sporting drive. The 2019 Macan will ship with two engines, or as Porsche likes to call them, "drive units." The base Macan will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that puts out 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. These numbers are identical to the outgoing Macan, which shouldn't be a surprise as it's basically the same engine apart from several small revisions designed to increase responsiveness and efficiency.

This engine features a single, twin-scroll turbocharger located between the cylinders of the V6 rather than off to one side of the engine 鈥?referred to as a "hot-V" arrangement, it has several advantages. The overall packaging is much more compact, giving engineers more freedom for placement in the engine bay. And placing the turbo close to the combustion chambers means there is less distance for the exhaust and subsequent charged air to travel. Shortening this distance increases the responsiveness of the engine to throttle inputs, making it feel sportier than the outgoing unit. Additionally the new twin-scroll turbocharger provides maximum torque much lower in the power band, with maximum torque coming in at 1,360 rpm and staying flat up until 4,800 before starting to fall off. This huge power curve was highlighted on the narrow twisty roads that bisect Palma de Mallorca, where the punchy 3.0-liter could rocket the Macan out of hairpin bends.

It scooted around packs of Tour de France hopefuls without ever feeling like a switch to the PDK transmission's manual mode was necessary to keep the engine on-song. Speaking of the PDK, Porsche's ubiquitous dual-clutch automated manual transmission is standard and has been optimized to the new engines. In both Normal and Sport mode, shift times have been decreased and responses to throttle inputs have been improved. In keeping with the Macan's sporting nature, the Sport Chrono package remains available but with a new feature called Sports Response that trickles down from the 911 and 718 lines. Activated by a steering wheel button, Sport Response increases the Macan's responsiveness for 20 seconds, providing the driver Sport Plus levels of performance (quicker throttle and PDK response) without having to fully engage the Sport Plus mode. It seems a bit gimmicky at first, but ends up being helpful when wanting to pass a vehicle in a hurry.

Porsche has made a few upgrades to the handling as well, and since great handling is part of the Porsche DNA, it happens to be what really sets the Macan apart from the rest of the small SUV crowd. Up front, the control arms are now made of aluminum instead of steel, and they have a unique forked design that spreads over and around the driveshafts, creating a more direct connection with the front upright. This new setup is more rigid, and reduces the unsprung mass by around 3.3 pounds 鈥?a significant amount. This helps with steering response and reduces the workload on the shocks, allowing for a smoother ride and better handling. To help increase the responsiveness and turn in, Porsche reduced the front rim width by half an inch. The tire sizes are now staggered: between 235/60/18 and 265/40/21 on the front, and between 255/55/18 and 295/35/21 on the rear. Those wheels hide massive 360mm brake rotors (on the Macan S), up 10mm from the last gen. Additionally Porsche's active damper control system (PASM), height-adjustable air suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) continue to be options.

2019 Porsche Macan Turbo Review And Price

The new Macan saw the world premiere. Now, it is time to think about upcoming models and trim levels. True enthusiasts will look beyond the moment. They will wait for versions the bring more excitement. The 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo and GTS are these. From this stance, it seems like the German carmaker is not going to make radical changes since the same engine takes the position under the hood. On the other hand, the exterior is the same as for the new 2019 Macan. Well, some things are unique as always. Wheels, spoiler, and special grille make the Turbo version distinctive and eye-catching. Under the bonnet of the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo remains the same 3.6-liter V-6 drivetrain. This beast can crank out over 400 horses. Torque will get an improvement from the current level. Also, the new Macan Turbo will drop the time needed for 0-60 mph sprint. Currently, the SUV needs 4.5 seconds to do that.

If this is not enough, then buyers can pick a Performance package. The next update will bring more power. We expect this version to produce at least 450 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque. However, the company is still about to confirm these rumors. With such drivetrain tuning, the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo will stop the clock under 4 seconds for acceleration 0-60 mph. Both versions of the engine are using a seven-speed PDK auto transmission. The drivetrain is making the SUV a true rival to the BMW X3M. We already know the shapes of the new 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo. The only thing you need is to take a look at the standard model. 30,000 more just because of the drivetrain. Wheels are getting bigger and there are more options for rims. Also, custom-color brakes behind them will make the car breathtaking. Maybe the exterior is not so rich with additions, but the cabin will show why is the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo is one of the most expensive SUVs. Alcantara leather and so-called Tequipment features will make it out of reach for many fans. Nevertheless, the Macan Turbo has plenty to offer. Buyers have to choose different color options for the interior. Power- or Adaptive Sport seats come with a 14- or 18-way adjustable position. Since the new Macan is out, it is just a matter of time when the other trim levels will start to appear. First, we can expect Macan S and GTS. After these are out, the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo will appear. Everything should happen pretty fast. Early next year we will have the entire lineup available in salons. 10k short from the offer with Performance Package.

Nimble, agile, and even tossable aren鈥檛 words that you鈥檒l often find in driving impressions of a big three-row utility vehicle. Yet they most definitely apply to the 2017 Audi Q7. The new Q7 manages to provide a driving experience that, on tight, curvy roads, feels like that of a tidy mid-sizer. You might actually forget you鈥檙e in a tall utility vehicle that鈥檚 around 200 inches long鈥攖he length of a full-size sedan. The 2017 Q7 is essentially the same size as its predecessor, yet it has a new aluminum-intensive body construction (alloy body panels and a structure using high-strength steels) and completely new platform. It鈥檚 nearly 500 pounds lighter (or by official U.S. But it also has its tricks鈥攍ike all-wheel steering. In top-trim form, with all the right option boxes clicked, this big utility wagon has a sophisticated, height-adjustable air suspension and well-tuned suspension that really work to maximize this vehiclesride quality and cornering potential. The Q7 is the first SUV with four-wheel steering since GM鈥檚 Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon XL models offered it more than a decade ago.

Victor Underberg, the head of chassis dynamics at Audi AG, rode along with us for an hour or so, and he helped us understand how the all-wheel steering works in the Q7. According to Underberg, there are some serious differences in the behavior of the rear wheels between the Q7鈥檚 Drive Select modes (Comfort, Dynamic, Auto, and Individual, as well as Off-Road in some situations). The Q7鈥檚 Dynamic Mode not only reduces the maximum angle of the rear wheels in tight cornering but changes the entire way the system works in quick maneuvers and nearer to the limit. All-wheel steering is now offered in the Porsche 911, and in the Acura RLX sedan. The Acura system requires a bit of a learning curve to understand exactly when the rear wheels are going to pivot and give you a predictable, pronounced nudge鈥攈opefully back onto your intended, non-understeer trajectory. Compared to that Acura system, the Audi system provides less of the nudge and more of a consistent, French-curve-tightening of your cornering arc. From the driver鈥檚 seat it feels as if the vehicle is no longer pivoting around its rear wheels but, momentarily, a point a lot closer to your tailbone.

Review: 2019 Porsche Macan S

63,000, depending on the size of the engine. Whimsical: A homeowner hires a handyman to paint the porch at the front of his house brown. He comes home and his porch is the same but his silver Porsche 911 in the driveway is now brown. Anecdotal: The pharmacist in the Toronto drugstore I used to frequent when I lived there owns a Porsche Macan S. She loved it when she bought it in 2015 and she loves it today. She has her reasons, which I will detail later, but suffice it to say she had her eye on a Porsche from the time she was a little girl. 鈥淚t was a prestige brand,鈥?she said. 鈥淚t is an important model for us,鈥?he said. Inside, the HD touch screen is bigger (10.9 inches, up from 7.2) for infotainment and connectivity (the 4G LTE on-board Wi-Fi feature is standard and there is web-based navigation).

There are new air vents, an air ionizer to improve air quality in the cabin, USB ports are all around and there鈥檚 a heated front windshield. A GT sports steering wheel (you can have it heated as an option) is available. There are various driving modes on offer, as well as apps. You just have to push the right buttons. An aside: there are lots of buttons to push or icons to touch in just about every new car on the road today, not just Porsches. People complain that they have to take their eyes off the road to find these things. I was at a luncheon with Alfa Romeo F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi prior to the Grand Prix, and he talked about the steering wheels in modern Grand Prix cars that have a minimum of 25 buttons on them. 鈥淲e have to memorize where they are and what they do,鈥?he said. So, I suggest that we all take a page out of that racing鈥檚 driver鈥檚 book.

If anyone鈥檚 worried about driving distractedly, I suggest it鈥檚 time to memorize the controls/buttons on the console and touch screen. More on the interior: the car is easy to enter and to exit. The seats are plush and comfortable, both front and back (although, while it seats five, the middle seat in the back is not comfortable). I sat in the back seat for awhile and tested the ones behind the driver and passenger seats and found there to be plenty of room for a tall guy like me. Oh, and there are air vents back there and climate controls, too. The 10-speaker Bose sound system is so good that you could swear the Toronto Symphony was all around and you were the conductor in the middle. The trunk 鈥?oops, cargo hold 鈥?is not particularly roomy, but there鈥檚 a lot more room when you put down the rear seats.

55,500 Macan is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that boasts 248 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. 63,000 Macan S has a 3.0-litre V6 engine with a single turbocharger. It develops 348 hp and 352 lb.-ft. Both have all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission. 63,000 numbers are MSRPs for, pretty much, a basic car. If you want the extras 鈥?the options 鈥?it will cost you. For instance, automated emergency braking and adaptive cruise control are options that will push the prices up. There are lots of other things. 63,000 for the Macan S, you can buy a Porsche, and that is really saying something. And they are in showrooms now. Our route took us from the Holiday Inn Express in Deer Lake to Trout River, over to Norris Point (yup) and St. Pauls and then back to Deer Lake. We drove through Gros Morne National Park, which is breathtaking; the fjords that rival Norway鈥檚 are spectacular.

Used 2019 Porsche Macan For Sale In Boston, MA

My real dream car! I have now bought 4 cars from Highline and have had the best experience ever. May 2017, I bought a 1999 red Porsche 911 (996) from Highline. I never thought I would own a Porsche so it was a dream come true. Then in December 2017, I bought a BMW X1 for my daughter. Another excellent purchase. About three months ago, I traded in my 2011 Jeep Wrangler (that I loved) for a Porsche Panamera 4. I love that car and can? I can drive it in the snow. Having said all of this, I still was in the market for a 911 convertible with AWD (my real dream car). Well I bought one (and traded in my red 911 and got a fair deal) from Highline. I now have the car of my dreams and it is awesome! James, Charlie, Chad, Tony, and Mike have just been great! These guys also service my cars. I went to Porsche dealership for service and they did a great job but they also had dealership prices. The sales and service are both remarkable and I will only deal with these gentlemen from now on. Honestly these guys have great used cars with excellent prices and service. If you have a problem, speak directly with them and they are more than happy to help straighten out any issue. I highly recommend them and will buy from these guys only. They are my car guys!

Like many brands, Citroen knows the importance of SUVs and is moving to incorporate many more into its line-up, with each wearing its 鈥楢ircross鈥?tag to signify the practical, higher-riding body style. The latest is the C5 Aircross. Following the supermini-based C3 Aircross SUV, it enters a class already packed with talented contenders, many of which are either also new or have recently been updated to keep them fresh. Those cars show how important a small but strong turbo petrol engine is in this sector. So the updated Kia Sportage, which only comes with a naturally aspirated 1.6 petrol motor for comparable power, might face a tough challenge, even though it was tweaked last year to keep it up to date. Our third contender here, the Skoda Karoq, is already established in this market, and fresh from victory against the Nissan and Vauxhall, it鈥檚 moved through to this next round of competition against the all-new Citroen. Which car will take the spoils this time?

Following the success of its C3 Aircross compact SUV, Citroen has turned its attention to the even more lucrative mid-size market with the C5 Aircross. We鈥檙e testing the 拢25,325 PureTech 130 Flair version, which is bound to be a big seller. Unlike its smaller brother, the C5 Aircross is based on Citroen鈥檚 latest EMP2 platform, which is shared with sister brand Peugeot. It offers struts and a torsion beam to take care of suspension at the front and back. The chassis also features Citroen鈥檚 Progressive Hydraulic Cushion tech, which has been tuned to put the emphasis on comfort. It鈥檚 standard across the range and replaces a regular suspension bump stop with a secondary damper that slows body or wheel movement more softly when the damper gets close to the end of its stroke. This is part of the Advanced Comfort philosophy the firm has been developing for its latest cars.

The 2020 Mini John Cooper Works Clubman and Countryman are reportedly going to be much more powerful than the current models thanks to a new, 302 hp four-cylinder engine. Mini has been working on the new performance-focused Clubman and Countryman for quite some time, and according to Motoring File, the duo will feature the same powertrain as the BMW X2 M35i. BMW hasn鈥檛 specified what engine the new Clubman and Countryman JCW will use. The X2 M35i engine, officially dubbed the B48A20T1, displaces 2.0 liters and features a turbocharger for an output of 302 hp between 5000 rpm and 6250 rpm, while torque sits at 450 Nm from 1750 rpm to 4500 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW鈥檚 xDrive AWD system. If the new JCW Mini Clubman and Countryman adopt the same engine, they will be significantly quicker than the outgoing models which utilize a 228 hp four-pot. Unfortunately, the inclusion of this new engine and all-wheel drive system may see the British automaker abandon a manual gearbox in favor of an 8-speed auto. While that鈥檚 sad, there鈥檚 talk that Mini will fit a Torsen limited-slip differential up front, which should help with power delivery and improve agility and handling.

The 2017 Porsche Macan- a 5 seater luxury crossover SUV that sits and drives like a sports car. The Macan certainly lives up to its name- aptly derived from the Indonesian word for 鈥渢iger鈥? going 0-60 in just 4.6 seconds. The curvy front fascia heavily resembles its sportier siblings, and its stellar performance is superior to any of its compact crossover competitors. The new Macan appears to be low to the ground and wide, providing a more intimate relationship with the road and a splendidly thrilling drive. A visual highlight of the Macan is the sideblades. Not only do they set a sporty accent, their design pays homage to the beloved 918 Spyder. The proportions of the doors appear narrower and the flanks seem much sleeker and sportier. The classic Porsche sports car design is particularly prominent at the rear: slender at the top, widening into broad shoulders above the rear wheels. The Macan now has four turbocharged engine choices starting with a 2.0-liter flat-four that produces 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque while achieving 20/25 mpg city/highway; whilst all other Macans are EPA rated at 17/23 mpg. The Macan comes standard with all-wheel drive and with Porsche鈥檚 impressive seven-speed twin-clutch automatic. This enables the hatchback to rocket from 0-96 km/h in approximately 3.3 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 310 km/h. Besides the more powerful engine, the S variant has yellow brake calipers and an all-wheel drive system with a dedicated drift mode. The model also comes standard with an AMG performance exhaust and the AMG Dynamic Plus Package which includes active engine mounts, a RACE mode and special steering wheel controls. In mid-2019, Mercedes will introduce the GT 53 Coupe. It features a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with EQ boost technology. The engine develops 429 hp and 520 Nm of torque, while the electric motor can contribute an additional 21 hp. Pricing remains unconfirmed, but the Porsche Panamera 4S competitor runs from 0-96 km/h in approximately 4.4 seconds before topping out at 280 km/h. Unsurprisingly, it鈥檚 not as well equipped as the aforementioned models as it has a traditional nine-speed automatic transmission and an AMG sport suspension with steel springs.

The reason is that, folks involved at the time, really wanted to be elsewhere. They saw their future in the lucrative SUV world, not the costly racing world and so Porsche pulled the plug quickly only to get back into the deep end of the pool, this time, though, with the the Porsche/VW Cayenne. A full production run of 1,500 had been planned but due to problems with airbag rules 鈥?or so Porsche claims 鈥?only the 1,300 were made and of that about half were sold in the US. 205. Real-world tests better the 4-second 0 to 60 run by better than .5 seconds and which managed a 0 to 100 run in just under 7 seconds. In looks, the Carrera GT sported dual side intake scoops and large front-end ducts for huge cooling for the V-10. The Carrera GT, whose engine was a double overhead cam V-10 with four valves per cylinder and variable valve timing for optimum scavenging. The exhaust valves were sodium-cooled.

When it comes to kit cars, there are generally several routes taken by the major kit providers. Of course, there鈥檚 the good old Toyota MR2 frame that鈥檚 heavily (it would have to be heavily modified to even begin to look like the Carrera GT) and then there鈥檚 the Pontiac Fiero, which, while would also need extensive modification. 20,000 for the work. A bit of British nobility floods the senses when piloting the 2014Jaguar XJ. Jaguar would have no concern if it were the only game in town, but that's far from the truth. The premium full-size luxury segment, which includes vehicles hovering just under or at the six-figure mark, is a contentious grouping that includes the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Porsche Panamera. Each of those brings its own game to the battle, and none are easy to dismiss. To better understand the British perspective and evaluate its latest offering on a land without royalty, I recently spent a week with a long-wheelbase, all-wheel-drive Jaguar XJ in Southern California. The secret is aluminum. The result is a very rigid platform that is strong, corrosion-resistant and extremely lightweight. At first glance, this sedan appears to be everything but the enthusiast's choice. It is the automaker's largest platform, fitted with one of its least powerful engines mated to an all-wheel drive powertrain.
