Beverly Hills Porsche showroom asking when the new 911 will arrive. Last week photos were leaked of the new body and interior and teaser videos started appearing on Porsche's official YouTube channel. Today Porsche released some more information. And now the official announcement and press release from Porsche: The new 911 Carrera will make it's World Premiere at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show Next Month! ATLANTA -- August 23 2011 - At 48, the Porsche 911 Carrera is younger than ever. The completely redesigned seventh-generation sports car icon is stepping into the limelight with its sleek and stretched silhouette, exciting contours and precisely designed features. Yet from every angle it is unmistakably a 911, holding true to the Porsche 911 Carrera 鈥榚volution, not revolution鈥?design philosophy. The 100 mm or 3.9 inch longer wheelbase and reduced overall height underpin the fresh, athletic yet elegant appearance. When viewed from the front, the eye is drawn to the 911鈥檚 trademark wide-arched fenders, emphasizing the wider front track. The side mirrors are now mounted on the upper edge of the door, which also helps highlight the new design line and gives the visual impression of width.

The new lightweight body is an aluminum-steel composite construction and contributes greatly to the 45 kg or about 100 lbs weight reduction when compared to the previous 911 body. To complement the modern exterior design, Porsche designers created an interior reminiscent of the Carrera GT. The driver is now even more closely integrated within the cockpit thanks to the rising center console and high-mounted shift lever or gear selector located close to the steering wheel. As with the exterior, classic Porsche elements abound inside. Present is the instrument cluster with five round gauges - one of them a high resolution multifunction screen, and of course the central tachometer and the ignition lock to the left of the steering wheel. Setting the standard in its class, as it has for generations, the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S raise the performance and efficiency bar yet another notch. All versions get by with significantly less than 10 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (official U.S. 鈥榮ail鈥?or coast. The new electro-mechanical power steering offers not only Porsche鈥檚 typical precision and feedback but also helps increase efficiency and reduce fuel-consumption.

For example, the 911 Carrera with the new 350 hp, 3.4-liter boxer engine and optional PDK consumes 8.2 l/100 km based on the NEDC - 1.6 l/100 km less than its predecessor. The 911 Carrera S with its 400 hp, 3.8-liter boxer engine - 15 hp more than before - achieves 8.7 l/100 km in the NEDC when paired with the optional PDK transmission. This represents a fuel consumption decrease of 14 percent or 1.5 l/100 km. At the same time there are performance improvements in both models. The 911 Carrera S with PDK accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds. Using the Launch Control function of the optional Sport Chrono Package cuts that to 3.9 seconds. The 911 Carrera with PDK needs only 4.4 seconds to sprint from a standing start to 60 mph (4.2 seconds when using the optional Sport Chrono Package鈥檚 Launch Control function). Top-track speed for the 911 Carrera S and 911 Carrera is 188 mph and 179 mph, respectively.

The new 911 offers both better longitudinal dynamics and unprecedented top performance in terms of transverse dynamics. In addition to the longer wheelbase, the greater agility, precision and driving stability are based, among other things, on the wider front track, the new rear axle and new electro-mechanical power steering. Depending on the model, there are other standard or optional active control systems available that can help further enhance the overall driving dynamics. The new 911 further extends the span of seemingly contradictory attributes such as performance and efficiency, sportiness and every day practicality that have always typified the Porsche 911. That makes the 911 Carrera more of a 911 than ever. The new Porsche 911 Carrera celebrates its world premiere at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in September. 96,400 (excluding destination). Both models will include substantial additional equipment when compared to the previous models. Beverly Hills Porsche, Number One in New Porsche Sales for all of the Western USA! We鈥檙e getting a better look at the upcoming 2020 Honda Fit / Jazz. Spied undergoing testing in Europe, the redesigned model has a more expressive front fascia with larger headlights that feature three dimensional elements. They reside on either side of a new two-bar grille. Further below, the Fit has a large air intake which now extends to the outer edges of the front bumper. Moving back, we can see slender A-pillars and larger front quarter windows. The Fit also has curvier bodywork and an evolutionary rear end with new taillights. Interestingly, the photos appear to show a standard model and a more rugged, off-road inspired variant. The latter has a roof rack, pronounced wheel arches and body cladding on the doors. The latest spy photos give us our first glimpse of the interior and they reveal the model will have a new steering wheel, a recessed instrument cluster and a more modern infotainment system with a metallic frame. There are three large knobs which are likely for the climate control system. Honda has been tight-lipped about the Fit, but reports have suggested the model will be offered with conventional, hybrid and electric powertrains. The photographers believe both these prototypes were the hybrid variant which is rumored to share its powertrain with the Insight. As a refresher, the Insight has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery and an electronic continuously variable transmission. This enables the model to have a combined output of 151 hp and a fuel economy rating of up to 55 mpg city. The Fit EV is rumored to have a range of approximately 300 km. That鈥檚 shorter than the Chevrolet Bolt and Tesla Model 3, but more than the standard Nissan Leaf which can only travel up to 241 km on a single charge.

The Management and Staff of Beverly Hills Porsche take a day to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche also know as Ferry Porsche. The successful story of Dr. Ing. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, would be inconceivable without the lifetime achievement of Ferry Porsche. 鈥淎t the beginning I looked around, but I could not find the car I was dreaming of. So I decided to build it myself.鈥?Building the first Porsche 356 and, later, the Porsche 911, Ferry Porsche consistently lived out his dream of 鈥渄riving in its most beautiful form鈥? With a precise feeling for each and every detail, he set the foundation for the Porsche. As the Managing Director and Chairman of the Supervisory Board he shaped the destiny of the Porsche Company for five long decades. In particular, it was his achievement as a visionary and an outstanding entrepreneur to make Porsche the world鈥檚 leading manufacturer of sports cars. When Ferry Porsche passed away on 27 March 1998 - the same year the last air-cooled 911 left the production line - he left the world as one of the last great automobile men. His lifetime of achievement earned a him a position in the European Automotive Hall of Fame. On 19 September 2009 Ferry Porsche would be celebrating his 100th birthday. Among other notable activities, the Porsche Museum will be releasing a new book, Ferry Porsche 100 Years to mark the occasion. The front seats, however, are comfortable, and they remain supportive even on long drives. Inside, this Porsche looks stylish and modern, and it's quiet even at highway speeds. High-quality materials abound, but some reviewers note that a few plastic pieces keep the 911 from feeling as luxurious as some of its rivals. With just 4.66 cubic feet of space in its trunk, the 911 isn't much of a cargo hauler. That's enough room for about three shopping bags and little else. However, since you're unlikely to have people in the back seat very often, you can use that area as extra storage space. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control and the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system with a 10.9-inch touch screen, navigation, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, an eight-speaker audio system, satellite radio, and Radio Plus. Available features include a sunroof (available in steel or glass), a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a 13-speaker Burmester audio system, and the Porsche Track Precision app.

It's easy to control the PCM infotainment system in a variety of ways: You can use the touch screen, the few physical buttons, or voice commands, and it recognizes handwriting. Phone users also have the option of Apple CarPlay (unlike some competitors, the 911 doesn't offer Android Auto). Radio Plus is one of the more interesting features in this Porsche. It integrates regular radio with internet radio, so if your favorite station has an online channel, it's never out of range. Is the Porsche 911 Reliable? The 2020 911 has a good predicted reliability rating of four out of five from J.D. Porsche covers the 911 with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty. The 2020 911 has not been crash tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Standard safety features include a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking. Available active safety features include night vision assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane change assist, traffic sign recognition, and a surround-view camera. The 911 is 14.8 feet long. Its curb weight is between 3,382 and 3,641 pounds.

Where Is the Porsche 911 Built? Porsche builds the 2020 911 in Germany. Which Porsche 911 Model Is Right for Me? For now, the redesigned Porsche 911 is only offered in two trims: S and 4S. Both are available in coupe and soft top cabriolet body styles. All 911 models come with a 443-horsepower twin-turbo six-cylinder engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (a PDK, which stands for Porsche Doppelkupplung). S models come with rear-wheel drive, while 4S models come with all-wheel drive. The previous generation 911 offered several additional models, including the Carrera, Carrera T, Targa 4, GTS, Turbo, GT3, and GT2 RS. At the time of this writing, Porsche has not revealed any details about future availability of these other models. 126,100 for the cabriolet (convertible) model. Standard driver assistance features include a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking.

5,380) adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system, ventilated front seats, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. 5,460) adds sport exhaust, the Sport Chrono package, and an upgraded sport suspension. Other options include styling and performance upgrades, a steel or glass sunroof, rear-axle steering, night vision assist, lane change assist, a 13-speaker Burmester audio system, and more. 133,400 for the cabriolet. The 4S comes with all-wheel drive, but beyond that, it's virtually identical to the S trim. Check out our U.S. News Best Price Program for great savings at your local Porsche dealer. The redesign brought about updates to the car's styling, powertrain, and features list, but it didn't change anything that makes the 911 great. This is still a powerful car that's incredibly fun to drive, and it provides plenty of interior luxury to boot. Sure, it's expensive, but if you have the money, this car is worth the price. Ferdinand Porsche would have to wait until after WW2 to fulfil his dream of creating a sports car from the Volkswagen Beetle. In 1949, the 356 was the first Porsche sports car, and was debuted at the Geneva Motor Show where it created immediate interest. Owners of the 356 were keen to race the car as well as drive it on the streets. As a result, orders reached some 10,000 units by 1964. When production of the Porsche 356 ended in 1965, 76,313 cars had been built. In 1964, the 911 Porsche sports car made it debut. 2, with an air cooled, rear mounted, 2 litre, 6-cylinder, 130 bhp engine. In 1966, the more powerful Porsche 911S was launched with a 160 bhp engine. In 1969, fuel injection was added to the 911S, and the 911E became the new middle of the range model. In 1970, the engine capacity of all 911's was increased to 2195 cc.

In 1972, all models received a larger 2341 cc engine. This was known as the "2.4L" engine. The 911S was the top of the range. In 1973, the next car to be introduced was the 911 Carrera 2.7 RS. It had stiffened suspension and a distinctive rear spoiler. Carrera was Spanish for "race", and the RS meant "racing sports". In 1974, the 911 Carrera 3.0 RS appeared, with Bosch fuel injection and a 230 bhp engine. It was designed with racing in mind, and had a number of successes. In 1974, the 911 Turbo was introduced. The engine was a turbocharged 3 litre, 260 bhp unit. Known as the Type 930, it had distinctive wide wheel arches and a large rear spoiler. In 1976, the Carrera 3.0 was introduced. It used the 930, 3 litre, Turbo engine with Bosch fuel injection, but without the turbocharger. By 1978, the engine of the 930 Turbo had increased to 3.3 litres. In that year, the latest Porsche sports car to be introduced was the 3 litre, 911SC. In essence, this was a Carrera 3.0 with a detuned engine.

The new smaller-than-a-Cayenne SUV growls over to Beverly Hills Porsche in Los Angeles in 2013 and will be called Macan. Porsche has announced the new name of the upcoming smaller-than-a-Cayenne SUV Porsche's new sports car in the SUV segment has been given the name Macan. The name Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics, core characteristics of the new off-road car. 鈥淭he Macan combines all sports car characteristics with the benefits of a SUV and is a genuine Porsche鈥? said Bernhard Maier, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG. As the fifth Porsche model line, the Macan is a central plank of Strategy 2018, by which the sports car manufacturer wishes to expand its model portfolio. Porsche intends the Macan to emulate the success of the Cayenne. Beverly Hills Porsche is an authorized factory dealership of Porsche cars, SUVs, accessories, parts and merchandise. Some of the actions and measures which are initiated by the above mentioned safeguards are automatic tensioning of front seat belts, automatic positioning of front passenger seat, automatic closure of side windows and tilting or sliding sunroof. The vehicle is endowed with bi-xenon headlamps that offer optimum visibility and makes your drive safer. The fog lamps present in the Mercedes Benz SLK Class offer clear vision in any type of weather conditions. The extremely rigid passenger cell and the crumples zone offer greater safety to the passengers. The head restraint comes as a standard feature on the front seats. When the sensor detects an impact from the rear, it thrusts the head restraint forwards in just few milliseconds and thus reduces the gap between itself and the occupant's head. It is also packed with airbags that offer protection against collision and also reduce the impact of injury. The belt pretension on the front seats and the outer rear seats offer greater safety to the occupants in the event of an accident.

Michelin鈥檚 new range of high-performance tires is designed for the new Porsche Cayenne. The Michelin lineups for Porsche鈥檚 new SUV are organized around three tire models. All of the tires display the special N marking on the sidewalls, certifying that they comply with Porsche鈥檚 very high quality standards. The three models are: the Latitude Tour HP, Latitude Sport and Latitude Alpin. The Latitude Tour HP, with the Green X label on its sidewalls, offers outstanding on-the-road performance and road-holding ability, as well as low rolling resistance, high mileage and reduced weight. The tire鈥檚 the rubber compound, tread design and casing help to significantly reduce fuel consumption. Michelin designed and developed the new Latitude Tour HP in close cooperation with the German carmaker鈥檚 engineering teams, Michelin said. The Latitude Sport delivers outstanding performance in three areas: better handling on dry surfaces, enhanced safety (due in particular to its excellent wet and dry braking ability) and improved energy efficiency, according to the tiremaker. The tire features a special architecture, supported by a unique banded-at-zero belt with shoulder overlay and variable pitches, to maintain control over the contact patch and increase accuracy. The Latitude Alpin delivers optimal handling on wet, icy and snow-covered roads. The tire offers summer tire performance in the most challenging weather conditions, while providing longer tread life and reducing fuel consumption, Michelin said.

Prior to its global premiere later this year, the new 2019 Kia K900 has been spied testing by Carscoops reader Abdullah in Dubai. The prototype in question wears a layer of black and white camouflage, shielding most of its design. Among the visible tweaks between the new car and the outgoing model are LED daytime running lights in the headlights, a revised front grille, and new lower air intakes. At the rear, Kia designers have created a pair of taillights which, from some angles, look very similar in shape to those from the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. While only moderate modifications will be made to the cabin, the interior is expected to be a dramatic departure from the current car. For example, it is reported that the South Korean automaker will offer a Lexicon audio system as standard. Additionally, plush materials and wooden surfaces will be found within. In terms of engines, we hear the new K900 will get the 3.3-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 from Genesis, delivering 365 hp and 420 hp respectively. Both of these engines will be mated exclusively to a 10-speed automatic gearbox powering the rear wheels. All-wheel drive will be an option.

Porsche Macan was released nearly five years ago. That's forever in car years, and Porsche finally decided that the time had come for a "mid-cycle" refresh: a raft of small improvements that should keep the Macan fresh until the next major redesign comes around. To test that theory, we flew to the middle of the Mediterranean to take the new 2019 Porsche Macan for a spin. After a day of navigating Palma de Mallorca's narrow, twisting cliff-side roads, and dodging packs of cyclists, we can confirm that Porsche's small SUV is still one of the best in class. Despite being a crossover, it does what all Porsches do best: deliver a great, sporting drive. The 2019 Macan will ship with two engines, or as Porsche likes to call them, "drive units." The base Macan will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that puts out 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.

The entire staff at Beverly Hills Porsche wish Prof. F.A. Porsche a very happy 75th birthday! Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, Honorary Chair of the Supervisory Board of Dr. Ing. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, celebrated his 75th birthday on 11 December 2010. As a designer of true genius, F.A. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche was born on 11 December 1935 in Stuttgart, the eldest son of Dorothea and Ferry Porsche. As a child his world was already being influenced by automobiles, with him spending a lot of time in the design offices and development workshops of his grandfather Ferdinand Porsche. In 1943 the family, together with the company of Porsche, relocated to Austria, where he went to school in Zell am See. After returning to Stuttgart in 1950, he passed the final school examination, the 鈥淎bitur鈥? at the Waldorf School, and registered at the College of Design in Ulm. In 1958 F.A. Porsche joined the design department of what was at that time Dr. Ing. His talent for design very soon became apparent when, with the Type 754 鈥淭7鈥? he formally presented to the world the direction which was to be followed in the succession to the 356 Series.

In 1962 he took charge of the management of the Porsche Design Studio, and one year later took the world by storm with the Porsche 901 (also referred to as the 911). As well as passenger cars, F.A. With the conversion of Porsche KG into a share company in 1971/72, F.A. Porsche and all the other family members stepped aside from the operational business of the company. As a shareholder and member of the Supervisory Board, he oversaw the development of Dr. Ing. F. Porsche AG for many years, and from 1990 to 1993 he served as the Chair of the Supervisory Board. In 2005 he passed the mantle of responsibility as a Porsche AG Supervisory Board member to his son Oliver, and took on the position of Honorary Chair of the Board. In autumn 2003 F.A. Porsche and the other shareholders of 鈥淧orsche Design鈥? together with Dr. Ing. F. Porsche AG, founded the Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (PLH, Porsche Licence and Trading Company). The aim of this company is to make best use of the potential of the name Porsche in sectors which go beyond the automobile. The focus here is on the trademark 鈥淧orsche Design鈥? which in recent years has developed to become one of the world鈥檚 leading brand names in luxury articles, with its own marketing network. 鈥楽ir William鈥檚 statement has put up the men鈥檚 backs. It seems it is always the workers who are to blame for everything. The longest strike in the history of Jaguar cars ended on 5th September after ten weeks and four days. It cost the company some 拢21m worth of cars and ruined the launch of the XJ12. Each of the 2000 strikers was estimated to have lost between 拢300 and 拢400 in wages. Many of the strikers complained that they rarely worked a full week as they were often sent home early due to a shortage of components from the ex-Daimler Radford factory and external suppliers. The settlement of the dispute led to the introduction of measured day work at Browns Lane and production of the XJ12 went full steam ahead to meet demand. Denis Jenkinson borrowed an XJ12 and was able to compare it to the E-type. 鈥楾his was in the autumn of 1972 and it proved to be a giant of a car, with road holding and handling up to using the full potential of the V12 engine.

On 6 September 1973, Geoffrey Robinson, who had been out in Italy running British Leyland鈥檚 Innocenti operation, was appointed Jaguar Managing Director working alongside Lofty England. Later in the month, a strike at power steering supplier Adwest brought the production lines to a halt, and in October the Arab-Israeli Yom Kippur war broke out. In protest at the West鈥檚 support for Israel the OPEC nations cut back oil production and raised prices with a cataclysmic effect on the world economy. In the same month, the Jaguar E-type FHC ceased production, the reason being that from 1974 all coupes sold in the USA had to be fitted with an internal roll-over bar. Jaguar then boosted roadster production. For parent company British Leyland, 1973 was a dreadful year in which it was plagued by strikes which prevented it from exploiting an expanding car market. On New Year鈥檚 Day 1974, the three day week came into force lasting until March. The Three-Day Week was one of several measures introduced in the United Kingdom by the Conservative Government 1970-1974 to conserve electricity, the production of which was severely limited due to industrial action by coal miners.

The effect was that commercial users of electricity would be limited to three specified consecutive days鈥?consumption each week and prohibited from working longer hours on those days. Analysing the E-type production figures, it appears during the three-day week Jaguar managed to produce around 730 cars despite the restrictions, suggesting the implications of the steep oil price rises had not hit home. Lofty England retired from Jaguar at the end of January 1974, citing friction with Lord Stokes nominee Geoffrey Robinson, who replaced him as chairman. As for the E-type, time was running out. All cars exported to the USA from 1974 had to have ungainly rubber bumper over riders which added weight and further distorted the cars appearance. To be fair to Jaguar, many pundits felt that the energy crisis would not affect Jaguar because of the pre-energy crisis waiting list for their cars, but quite clearly it had. The final E-type, registered HDU 555N was retained by Jaguar Cars, the last of 72,233 cars. At least two Series 3 E-types were fitted with a five speed gearbox designed by Trevor Commins, working under Harry Mundy. The E-type left an enduring legacy which enabled people to forget its faults. In September 1975 the Jaguar XJ-S was launched.

Dominating the dash is a floating wide-screen display that provides vital driving information as well as serving as the main hub for the infotainment system. The rest of the cabin resembles a classy lounge and includes additional screens to keep occupants entertained. It goes without saying that the Generation EQ concept also features the latest driving aids from Mercedes, which rely on highly accurate maps from HERE. For example, the systems know such things as the precise position and radius of a roundabout. Mercedes鈥?upcoming electric cars won鈥檛 be able to drive completely on their own but in some situations should have self-driving capability, such as on the highway or in heavy traffic. The Generation EQ has the ability to display the highly accurate maps. This makes it possible, for example when searching for points of interest, for restaurants, shopping opportunities and tourist attractions to be especially highlighted. So that the driver isn鈥檛 overloaded, only those buildings and information that are relevant for navigation are displayed. The concept also integrates vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) technology. The latter is particularly important as it is helpful for the driver to be informed about nearby recharging opportunities. As soon as the vehicle determines that the destination cannot be reached on the available battery charge, it advises the driver of appropriate options on the navigation map. Germany鈥檚 automakers are rushing to launch new electric cars due to the improvements made to battery technology in recent years as well as more generous incentive programs, particularly in China.

The Porsche Macan is the Cayenne鈥檚 little sister. It鈥檚 an SUV with a desirable badge, how could it not be a success? Thing is, the Macan has always overdelivered in just about every department. It鈥檒l go further off-road than most owners will ever ask, it鈥檒l hammer down a twisting road with more skill than most drivers would have the nerve to test, and it鈥檒l seat five in front of a class-leadingly big boot. Porsche got the Macan right first time. For 2019, it鈥檚 been subtly but usefully updated. On the outside, there are new headlights peering through a reprofiled bonnet, tweaked door mirrors and some lairier paint hues. The only exterior change you鈥檒l actually notice, however, is the full-width rear light bar, which apes the look of the new 911. (And Panamera. Inside, there鈥檚 a much more significant makeover. The air vents have been relegated lower down the order, to make way for a 10-inch touchscreen featuring a much more feature-packed interface inherited from pricier Porsches.

New Panamera Plug-in Hybrid and Extended Wheelbase Variants Heading to Beverly Hills! Porsche is introducing its first plug-in hybrid and two new extended wheelbase variants with the second generation of the Panamera. The new Panamera S E-Hybrid produces 416 total system horsepower and is joined by Panamera 4S Executive and Panamera Turbo Executive models in the revised Panamera lineup perfect for the Beverly Hills Executive. Further, S models are now powered by an entirely new 3.0-liter V6 engine with twin turbochargers. The broadest model range in its class has been further expanded, now consisting of nine models for the U.S. New and further-developed technologies offer improved performance while also enhancing fuel efficiency and comfort. The new Panamera is characterized by tighter lines, more pronounced contours and newly shaped body elements. The refreshed Panamera celebrates its world debut at Auto China in Shanghai, which opens on April 21, where further details on the new models will be revealed. Panamera S E-Hybrid sets new standards in performance, efficiency, and convenience in everyday use.

The Panamera S E-Hybrid expands upon the driving performance of the previous generation, while fuel consumption is reduced when compared to the previous Panamera S Hybrid. Final U.S. EPA fuel economy ratings will be available closer to launch. Simultaneously, its electric-only driving performance is substantially improved, enhancing acceleration, range, and top speed. Electric-only driving is possible without any fuel consumption or local emissions, which is especially advantageous in city driving. The electric driving range of the Panamera S E-Hybrid is estimated to be greater than 20 miles based upon current NEDC testing. Driving range may vary in real world operation, due to the effects of environmental conditions, terrain, air conditioning and heating use, driving style and other factors. The Panamera S E-Hybrid can reach up to 84 mph in all-electric operation. The Panamera S E-hybrid is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, an improvement of a half second when compared to the Panamera S Hybrid. An electric boost function helps in instances where maximum acceleration is desired, when the electric motor works in tandem with the combustion engine during acceleration.

Electric boost is also available when a kick-down switch in the throttle pedal is activated by the driver during acceleration. The car鈥檚 top track speed is 167 mph. The Panamera S E-Hybrid also includes an entirely new range of convenience functions which can be activated and operated by Porsche Car Connect, a mobile app available for Android and iOS-powered devices. These functions include a charge status indicator and the ability to control the vehicle鈥檚 new auxiliary climate control option, which enables vehicle preheating or cooling via the Porsche Car Connect app. These functions can also be programmed from inside the vehicle. A mobile device may also be used for remote access to vehicle information, such as remaining driving range or vehicle location. Other functions not specific to the hybrid drive will also be available as options for other Panamera models via the Porsche Car Connect mobile app. The two full-sized rear bucket seats offered in the Panamera have proven so successful that Porsche is expanding this generous rear passenger compartment room with two new Panamera Executive models.

The new Panamera 4S Executive and Panamera Turbo Executive models feature a wheelbase extended by 5.9 inches, enabling even more rear seating comfort and come with an extensive range of standard features. For example, all Executive models are equipped with Adaptive air-suspension featuring Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which combines superior performance and enhanced ride comfort. Increasing both performance and efficiency has long been a core Porsche philosophy. In the new Panamera, this approach takes form in a 3.0-liter V6 engine with twin turbochargers. With the exception of the Panamera S E-Hybrid, all Panamera models are equipped with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK); the Panamera S E-Hybrid uses the eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic. The PDK transmission works in tandem with other vehicle systems to enhance fuel savings in the new generation Panamera. For example, the optimized engine Auto Start Stop feature now turns the engine off earlier while coasting to a stop.

With the exception of the Panamera GTS, models with PDK also offer a coasting function in which the clutches open in overrun allowing the engine to idle and the vehicle to coast freely. This function can significantly improve fuel economy, especially when traveling on the highway. Exterior design changes of the new Panamera are extensive. The tighter and more prominent lines up front are especially apparent in the larger air intakes and the transition to the headlights. Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of the new generation Panamera is a new trunk lid; its laterally stretched glass emphasizes the vehicle鈥檚 width and makes for a more aggressive stance. Rear body proportions were also changed. A larger automatically deploying spoiler and a tighter transition to the rear lights complement the treatment at the front of the vehicle noted above. The new Panamera continues the tradition of multiple options that enable owners to customize the look and function of their vehicles. Full-LED headlights, which lend the new generation a striking appearance, are now an option. In addition, an expanded lineup of assistance systems is available for safety and convenience. The revised adaptive cruise control system is now offered with Porsche Active Safe (PAS). This system visually and audibly alerts the driver in the event of a sudden decrease in following distance and briefly tugs on the brakes. It can also intervene in the braking process and apply increased braking pressure in an emergency braking situation, if required. Another new feature, camera-based lane departure warning, offers greater convenience and safety in city and highway travel.

Beverly Hills Porsche is pleased to announce the Porsche 918 Spyder has been green lighted for development and production. The concept car that has had the showroom and all of Los Angeles buzzing with anticipation is finally announced as a reality. In a press release issued today, Porsche confirmed its intentions to build the super car. The 541S front passenger seat folds completely up to allow far easier access into the rear than most other two door cars - even modern ones. Both the 541S and the CV8, unlike many more modern fast cars, sensibly provide a very large boot space for luggage. I do feel that a lot of the modern fast car designs, fail to provide the head room and leg space for taller drivers, and completely fail to provide useful luggage space. As a family man these are some of the reasons why I favour the CV8. Out of all the Jensen cars of this period, the 541S has been the least sought after, and the most difficult to sell. There is a reason for this, although it is an impressive car and beautiful, it has a reputation for lacking acceleration as a sports car. It has a good top speed and is capable of travelling at over 100 mph all day long. But all the original road test reports were based on the automatic version (this automatic gearbox although developed by Rolls Royce lost an awful lot of performance) - it is such a pity that the manual version was never tested!

Between 1960 and 1962 Jensen built 127, in total of 541S cars, out of these only 22 were manual drive. The manual is a gem of a car! The most luxurious car of all the 541 range, and what is not generally known, these manual drive cars with the Lacock-de-Normanville overdrive are very fast cars indeed. They would have earned a much better reputation from a road test than the one they have from the automatic version. The 541S has certain unusual design features, adjustable front seat arm rests fitted to each door, the Bevelift jack, kept in the boot, was designed for use through the floor of the car in front of each front seat. So it was possible to lift front and rear wheels together whilst protected from the rain. When the boot lid is open the driver can still see, without any restriction, out of the rear window.

Very sensibly the spare wheel valve is accessible, through a fitting in the rear of the boot floor, thus allowing the air pressure to be checked easily without having to remove the wheel. The look of these cars when viewed from the side could be said to be reminiscent of early Jaguar cars, head on possibly Aston Martin, and from the rear one thinks of Porsche. However Jensen developed with the 541S quite an original and distinctive aero dynamic design without any sacrifice to space or comfort. I still consider it to be one of the most attractive four seater cars of that era that still attracts admiration today. Readers will by now realise that I rather like these cars, that is certainly true, and we owned 5 out of the 22 made. It will not be easy to buy a good manual 541S as only 15 more at most exist. The hunt would be worthwhile, if one could be found, as such a car would cost less than an ordinary 'E' type Jaguar in reasonable condition. My bet is that this situation will change.

Porsche cars are often described as vehicles that "stick to the road." Sports car tires make a major contribution to this phenomenon. These tires are very complex products meeting numerous, largely contradictory demands. Finding the proper structure that balances these demands for any given application is the great challenge in tire design. Beverly Hills Porsche is your Los Angeles source for Porsche replacement tires. Porsche designs and manufacturers some of the highest performance vehicles in the world. Because of the integral role that tires play in vehicle performance, Porsche has integrated tire development throughout their process of vehicle development. To be an Original Equipment tire provider on a Porsche vehicle or be approved by Porsche for the replacement market requires the joint product development efforts of the tire engineers working alongside the Porsche vehicle engineers. The focus in recent radial tire development for Porsche vehicles has primarily included optimum handling on dry surfaces and the safest possible behavior on wet surfaces, even at high speeds.

Tires developed by various manufacturers, in concert with Porsche, offer a specific set of wet grip properties which few, if any, other automobile manufacturers demand in equal measure from the tires they use on their vehicles. Production tires that have passed all of the tests and received the engineering department's release can be branded with an N-specification. The N-specification brandings include: N-0 (N-zero), N-1, N-2, N-3 or N-4. These markings on a tire's sidewall clearly identify them as approved by Porsche for their vehicles. The N-0 marking is assigned to the first approved version of a tire design. As that design is refined externally or internally, the later significant evolutions will result in a new generation of the tire to be branded with N-1, N-2, N-3, etc., in succession. When a completely new tire design is approved, it receives the N-0 branding and the succession begins again. It is recommended that only matching tires be used on Porsche vehicles.

Since many Porsche vehicles are fitted with differently sized tires on their front and rear axles, this means matching the tire make, tire type and N-specification. If a vehicle was originally delivered with N-specification tires that have been discontinued and are no longer available, it is recommended to change all four tires to a higher numeric N-specification design appropriate for that vehicle. Mixed tire types are not advisable. Tires should be replaced no less than in pairs on one axle at a time. Only tires of the same tire make and type must be used. However, in case of tire damage such as cuts, punctures, cracks or sidewall bulges that cause a single tire to be replaced for safety reasons, the remaining matching tire on that axle must not exceed 30 percent wear. If the remaining tire has more than 30 percent wear from new, it should also be replaced. Handling inconsistencies may result if this is not done. Initially, new tires do not offer their full traction. Drivers should therefore drive at moderate speeds during the first 60-100 miles (100-200 km). If new tires are installed on only one axle, a noticeable change in handling occurs due to the different tread depth of the other tires. This happens especially if only rear tires are replaced. However, this condition disappears as new tires are broken in. Drivers should adjust their driving style accordingly. The new GTI has an extended 2631 mm wheelbase and a short overhanging in the front that visually shifts the entire vehicle cabin backwards. Compared to the previous models its bonnet looks slightly longer and its height slightly shorter. The front features a re-defined radiator grill and optional led fog lights. The area beneath the bumper is painted with the same body color. When viewed from the side, the standard LED rear lights and the optional LED daytime lights stand out. For the first time, Volkswagen Golf GTI has red front wing plates, GTI front and rear badges. Its interior has standard features that include a customized leather steering wheel, a golf-ball reminiscent gear shift grip, red ambience lighting, brushed stainless steel pedals and legendary tartan patterned seat covers. Everything from its layout, stability, appeal to the eye, wheels, pedals and engine power has been tuned for max driving fun. Drivers will notice significant agility levels in this model as compared to previous models.

The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe. The original Cayenne was the first production Porsche with four doors. Despite some detractors, it鈥檚 been a high-performer from the start - not every variant was brilliant, but enough of them were, which justified the Cayenne鈥檚 existence many times over. One of the first sports-oriented SUVs, the Cayenne is credited with sending Porsche into orbit financially and, in part, with foreshadowing the current wave of like-minded offerings from other manufacturers. The third-generation Cayenne was introduced for the 2019 model year, and now there鈥檚 a new body style available, the Coupe, that might just be more Porsche than ever. It鈥檚 surprising that a sportier take on the Cayenne, which made its debut in 2002, is just arriving on the scene. If the pattern established by the manufacturer holds fast, more iterations will follow - a plug-in hybrid, for example, has already been confirmed as the fourth model in the product rollout.

The upshot of the Cayenne Coupe is this: It鈥檚 the same engineering that underpins the Cayenne, but it鈥檚 presented in a more hunkered-down form with slightly different dimensions and a few interesting tweaks. Each version of the Coupe is more expensive than the corresponding Cayenne model, but the tweaks and some packaging differences between the two model lines are the cause of the discrepancy. When placed side-by-side, it鈥檚 easy to differentiate the Coupe from the classic Cayenne: On the new variant, the front windshield is shallower, owing to a roofline that鈥檚 20 millimetres lower, and the rear hatch is similarly angled. The wheelbase is identical, but the Coupe is 18 millimetres wider across the rear haunches, giving the impression that it鈥檚 more muscular and set closer to the ground. The Coupe also has a unique rear fascia, a fixed rear spoiler and a second adaptive spoiler that extends when the speedometer crests 90 km/h.

This last feature, the first use of adaptive aerodynamics on a production SUV, helps create more downforce at the back for greater cornering capability. There鈥檚 also a laundry list of performance-oriented options to choose from, including no fewer than three different 鈥渓ightweight packages鈥?that include a carbon-fibre roof, carbon-fibre diffuser and 22-inch aluminum wheels. Check all the right boxes and the Coupe tips the scales at 22 kilograms less than the equivalent standard model. Of the three models, the Turbo Coupe is, unsurprisingly, the most exhilarating. The twin-turbo V-8 unspools a whopping 541 horsepower, rockets from a full stop to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and goes on to hit an Autobahn-approved top speed of 286 km/h. Here鈥檚 the thing: The first drive of the Cayenne Coupe did not take place in Germany (with its unrestricted-speed stretches), but in neighbouring Austria, where the local constabulary tends to be less freewheeling.

The scenery in the Styria region is unquestionably beautiful and the narrow roads have solid character - but it鈥檚 just not the place to unleash a large vehicle with significant horsepower. A full summary of the performance capabilities will have to wait for another day. In the meantime, what can be said is this: The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe is incredibly well-engineered and better than many modern sports cars. The steering, handling, braking and engine response are far better than should be expected from any kind of an SUV - and yet, here we are. The third-generation Cayenne has plenty of swagger and some may actually prefer the boxier shape of the SUV. For sure, though, when fitted with the lightweight package, carbon-fibre roof and carbon ceramic brake package, the Coupe presents as a serious performance machine. A lower-than-usual rear seat in the Coupe helps to preserve headroom. To compensate for the sloping roofline, the rear seat in the Coupe has been lowered by 30 millimetres to preserve headroom; passengers around six-feet tall will find it surprisingly spacious.

Lamborghini Rental Los Angeles, LAX, Beverly Hills, Rent A Lamborghini In Santa Monica, Hollywood

Ever since I saw the Lamborghini Countach I knew that no other car company could ever come close. I also knew that I had to own one. I am pretty sure my drive to succeed came from my desire to afford a Lamborghini. I had the thrill of purchasing the Diablo when it came out, satisfying a long life goal. But now that i have rented the Murcielago when i was in Los Angeles on vacation, i am fairly sure i will be adding another Lamborghini to my collection. A little known history about Lamborghini is that originally they used to manufacture tractors. Until one day when Ferruccio Lamborghini, an extremely successful business man went to complain to Enzo Ferrari about the clutch of his car. But when Enzo responded with something like this "What does a tractor maker know about super cars? Go back to your farm and leave the super cars to me," .

The GTS also rides lower than other Macans (including the turbo) to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. And the brakes are as hefty as you might expect for a vehicle that weighs 4,177lbs (1,895kg)鈥攕ix-piston calipers and 360mm discs at the front, 330mm discs at the rear. Our test car also featured the optional Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system, a brake-based alternative to a mechanical limited slip differential or the clutch-controlled torque vectoring system used in cars like the Audi R8 or Ford Focus RS. From the driver's seat, the Macan GTS feels instantly right. The seat holds you firmly in place, with good side bolsters and plenty of adjustability from the standard 8-way power seats. The wheel, pedals, and PDK gear selector are all well-positioned, and visibility is good. I'm a fan of the way Porsche has designed the rather minimalist multifunction steering wheel. On the side spokes are little metal scroll wheels that feel wonderfully tactile; behind each side spoke are the paddle shifters.

At a time when the rest of the industry is moving toward a single multifunction screen for the main instrument display and as few physical buttons as possible, Porsche is determined to do things its own way. In front of you is the main instrument display鈥攁nalog physical dials for the speedometer (left) and tachometer (center), plus a small, also circular, multifunction display on the right. Just about every function gets its own button鈥擨 count 32, including the driver- and passenger-side climate controls. Ahead and either side of the gear lever are things like hazard lights and your climate controls. Farther back, on the driver's side, you'll find the ones that tweak the engine and suspension management. On the passenger side are the buttons to select off-road, to switch off auto stop-start and lane keeping, and to turn on the sports exhaust. Atop our particular Macan's dash is a little analog clock, which indicates this particular vehicle has been specced with the Sport Chrono package鈥攖he clock will double as a lap timer at the track. Sport Chrono adds more than just that stopwatch, though; you also get a Sport Plus button, which puts the car into its most aggressive mode.

Finally, in the center stack is Porsche's most recent infotainment system, which is now based on VW Group's MIB II. It is leagues better than previous Porsche infotainment systems and comes with Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is rumored to be on its way via an update, but it's not here yet. Were it not for the fact that you sit relatively high up, you'd be hard-pressed to tell that the Macan GTS is actually an SUV, based on the way it drives. If anything, it feels more like a (very) hot hatch like the Golf R or Ford Focus RS. Even with the Macan's electronic brains set to Normal, it holds the road well and resists roll in the corners. Things get more interesting when you put it in Sport or Sport Plus modes. These remap the throttle pedal, steering weight, the gearbox response time, the ride height and suspension damping, as well as altering the thresholds at which the car's traction and stability management software intervenes.

During my week with the Macan GTS, I unsurprisingly spent most of my time in either Sport, or Sport Plus mode. Sport Plus is perfect for those times when you're having fun on a back road (or on track), but for less committed driving it can be a little much if you have the PDK transmission in automatic. That's because it will stay in each gear much longer before shifting up or down; that's great for engine braking or attacking a corner, but it also means you're burning more gas and hearing the engine more. Then again, if you're in Sport Plus it probably means you're in a hurry or want to have fun, in which case you should be choosing your own gears. There's no getting around the fact that this is not a cheap vehicle. But, then, what did you expect from something wearing a Porsche badge? As with all Porsches, it's the options list that'll kill ya. 4,790), both options that you could almost certainly live without. 1,300 and a monthly fee that varies depending upon which services you want. 66,975 of options on top of the GTS' base price, should you wish to go absolutely crazy. Still, while it is possible to almost double the base price, most of us could live without custom paint colors, crazy contrast stitching on the seats and dash, or a leather-wrapped rearview mirror. 80,000. And that's more than rivals like the Jaguar F-Pace, Audi SQ5, or Volvo's XC60. But let's be honest鈥攎ost Macan GTS customers are buying it because they want a Porsche and a practical car that can carry five people and their luggage. And in that regard, the Macan GTS excels.

Imagine waking up every morning, heading off to work and being greeted by the latest and newest of what Porsche has to offer! That鈥檚 what Jay Huffschmidt of Beverly Hills Porsche faces everyday! Hang around the Porsche GT3 and take Brad Pitt around in it (that really didnt happen, or did it..?) Porsche and Hollywood Glam! Thats a great combo! Jay of Beverly Hills Porsche takes a moment to sit down and tell us about his Porsche Heritage! PH: The press reception in the past 6 months over the Porsche Panamera, can only be best described as 鈥淢IXED鈥? Many complained about the front engine lay out, but mostly about the rear-end design. What has been the reception and feedback you have received? JH: The Panamera is definitely getting a lot of attention right now. Mostly form sedan owners of competing makes. We鈥檝e had more than our share of Bentley GT, S Class and 750iL customers but the Masarati QP owners seem to be the most receptive to the car.

I like to compare the Maserati to an exotic Super Model, she鈥檚 beautiful, sounds and feels amazing but some days she just doesn鈥檛 want to get out of bed and she鈥檒l take you for every last dollar in your wallet. However at the end of the day she makes you feel like a million dollars. Now the Panamera is the Heidi Klum of Super Cars. Heidi is arguably one of the most beautiful, talented, versatile, hardest working models on the planet. She works on several TV programs, appears on the most prestigious runways, she鈥檚 delivered four children and still has a ripping hot figure. She is the epitome of German reliability with international appeal. Just like Heidi, the Panamera will make you feel like she鈥檚 worth the million dollars and deliver uncompromised performances over and over again. Plus it doesn鈥檛 hurt that she can 鈥淎uf鈥?just about any other sedan on the road. PH: How long have you been working at 鈥淏everly Hills Porsche鈥?

JH: I joined Beverly Hills Porsche in August 2009 after leaving a Porsche, Audi, Ferrari and Maserati dealer. PH: How did you get into it? JH: Many of my friends have moved over to Beverly Hills Porsche during the last few years. PH: Please tell us a little bit about a unique job as working with Porsches and Working in Beverly Hills? JH: Beverly Hills has always been known as the playground of the rich and famous. It widely considered to be one of the most famous shopping destinations in the world. Yes, we get plenty of celebrities but we also get lots of business leaders and old money types. TV you鈥檒l see plenty of our Beverly Hills Porsche plate frames. In fact last night on Bravo鈥檚 Million Dollar Listing we got loads of screen time as one of the stars drove his black 911 Tagra around to client meetings. Truthfully I stopped being star struck years ago although a certain female talk show host and her girlfriend sure brought the showroom to a halt when they dropped in to pick out their new C4S.

PH: Whats your Daily Driver? JH: I just turned in my leased Audi A4 2.0T and pulled my 2000 SLK 32 AMG out of storage. PH: When was the first time you saw a Porsche or experienced? I found a way to drive all of my fantasy cars for free. All I had to do was take them home, wash and wax them to showroom perfection and take them back a few hours later. To top it off, I got paid. Arguably the hottest girl in my hometown was Tasha H. and she drove a 911 SC Targa! Every week I鈥檇 drive to the beauty salon she worked at to pick up her car. Several hours later that red over black Targa would shine like it had just rolled off the line in Stuttgart. Soon every client of her salon knew my name and admired my work. Thankfully Tasha鈥檚 clients had money and the drove hot cars.

When her boyfriend bought a 鈥?5 911 Turbo with a massive 鈥渨hale tail鈥?I though I鈥檇 died and gone to teenage heaven. PH: What was your first Porsche? PH: How many Porsches have you owned? JH: Just the one. PH: Why did you get rid of it? JH: Sadly I had to give up the 911 when I moved away to take a job with Cadillac. PH: What would be your next Porsche? PH: What are your favorite bookmarks and links? PH: Do you work on your Porsche? JH: I never work on my own car outside of detailing. I鈥檓 really good at making friends with qualified mechanics but I can鈥檛 stand anyone else messing with the paint and leather. PH: What is your most fondest/vivid memory of your Porsche? Was it a road trip? JH: I always enjoyed how owners of other makes thought it was necessary to try and race me or grab my attention at lights, revving engines or giving the nod.

It鈥檚 not as quick to change gear after pulling one of the steering wheel-mounted paddles as we鈥檇 like, and often you鈥檙e left waiting for the change at a crucial moment pre or post-corner. In a small hot hatchback that鈥檚 very frustrating, because maintaining your flow down the road is a huge part of these cars鈥?appeal. The manual gearboxes in its rivals are so much more fun to use as well. Still, the VW鈥檚 engine has the most torque of the three, with its 320Nm maximum arriving at just 1,500rpm. It鈥檚 flexible enough that you don鈥檛 always need to change down to make progress. Longer gearing meant that the Polo GTI was the slowest car from 50-70mph in top gear, though, taking 8.2 seconds, which was more than a second down on the MINI and two seconds adrift of the Ford. However punchy it is, the engine is a bit flat and isn鈥檛 as enjoyable to use as the more characterful units in the Fiesta and Cooper S, despite VW engineering in some pops and bangs from the exhaust. The Ford does this, too, but its engine note is more pleasing.

It鈥檚 a similar story with the Polo GTI鈥檚 chassis: it鈥檚 effective but leaves us a bit cold. The upgraded suspension means there鈥檚 loads of grip and it鈥檚 agile, but the light steering and more neutral cornering stance ensure it鈥檚 not as lively as its rivals. The ride is the smoothest of all three, though, particularly at low speed, where the Ford in particular can start to feel a bit bouncy over small bumps and potholes. At motorway speeds, the GTI is the quietest car inside, so it will be easy to live with day to day. While it will work for some people, the Polo misses out on the crucial fun factor we look for in hot hatches. Testers鈥?notes: 鈥淲e can鈥檛 wait to try the manual version of the Polo, as an auto doesn鈥檛 make much sense here. The Fiesta ST is still the best model in its class - and with it, one of the best cars on sale today.

It鈥檚 fast, supremely fun to drive, usable every day and above all great value for money. Few sports cars are as much fun as the Fiesta ST on British roads, let alone hatchbacks. It鈥檚 just a shame the engine isn鈥檛 an all-time great, as this could have been a true fast Ford legend. With all the praise being heaped on the Fiesta ST, it would be easy to dismiss the MINI Cooper S. But it鈥檚 nearly as much fun as the Ford, while the punchy 2.0-litre engine is brilliant as well. It loses out a little due to higher running costs and pricey option packs that reduce its value for money. It lacks practicality, but if you can afford one, the MINI is a great fun choice. If you鈥檙e looking for a hot hatch you can drive easily in comfort every day, the Polo is worth a look. It鈥檚 practical, fast and mature, but in pursuit of those goals, the Polo is missing a sense of humour that鈥檚 desperately needed in a car like this. The others are brilliant fun all of the time, while the Polo is refined and relaxed - but for us that misses the point of the supermini hot hatch. New: Renault Clio R.S. There aren鈥檛 many supermini hot hatches that feature auto boxes like the Polo here, but the Clio R.S. It鈥檚 a shame the dual-clutch unit is sluggish, although the Renault has plenty of power and fun handling. The previous Fiesta ST is an all-time great, and you can get a used version of the most powerful ST 200 run-out model for around 拢16,000. It鈥檚 stiffer than the new car, but has a more exciting engine and is just as much fun to drive.

Never pity Porsche enthusiasts. For all the griping, armchair moaning, and whiny forum posting about turbocharging and electrification, those who love P-cars鈥攗s included鈥攈ave it unbelievably great. More than any other automaker, Porsche has stayed shockingly true to itself even as the all-electric Taycan looms on the horizon. Remember, we are living in a timeline where you can still purchase a 500-hp, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six that revs to 9,000 rpm in the GT3. That doesn鈥檛 stop the complaining, which in 2016 grew its loudest since the 911 abandoned air cooling. That鈥檚 when the Cayman and Boxster dropped their free-breathing flat-sixes for a pair of boosted flat-fours. If you believed the purists, this was sacrilege on most high, but once folks drove the cars, they realized the torquey little fours improved performance tremendously. Still, critics and fans warn to stick with the 2.5-liter found in the S and GTS models鈥攁nd to stay well enough away from the 2.0-liter found in the base and all-new T variants. That two-point-oh is a dog, they say.

Porsche is about to unleash 550 horsepower super sedans on the streets of Los Angeles. The rumors can be put to rest as Beverly Hills Porsche announces it will begin taking orders for the Panamera Turbo S starting this week. 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo S NOW IN STOCK! This will be one of the most powerful, if not the fastest four door cars on the planet. It seems to us, Porsche has come up with an alternative to California's bullet train project! With its new four-door Panamera Turbo S, Porsche once again raises the bar for sporty four-door luxury cars by delivering ultra high performance and efficiency, sports-car-like driving dynamics and first-class comfort in a purely Porsche package. Porsche will reveal its most powerful Panamera for the first time in North America on April 20, 2011 at the New York International Auto Show. The engine in the new top-of-the-line Panamera is based on the already proven and powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine in the Panamera Turbo.

The 4.8 liter, V8 engine in the Turbo S achieves a maximum output of 550 horsepower, which is 10 percent more than the 500 horsepower delivered by the Panamera Turbo. The torque is also increased over the Turbo from 516 lb-ft to 553 lb-ft. In the "Sport" and "Sport Plus" mode of the standard Sport Chrono Package Turbo, the overboost function temporarily generates additional torque with a peak rating of 590 lb.-ft. The power increase delivered in the Panamera Turbo S can be attributed to two main enhancements: improved twin turbochargers with titanium-aluminum turbines and a modified engine control. Titanium-aluminum reduces the turbine and compressor wheel's weight, which results in a quicker turbo response that improves the engine's agility. The formidable powerplant that lies beneath the hood of the Panamera Turbo S is capable of propelling it to sports-car sprint times. With the help of Launch Control, the newest Panamera can reach 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

The top track speed is 190 mph. And despite this increased performance, fuel consumption is expected to remain comparable to the Panamera Turbo that delivers an EPA rating of 15 mpg city/23 mpg highway (18 mpg combined). Official EPA-certified fuel economy figures for the Panamera Turbo S will be available when the car goes on sale in North America. Even for a world-class luxury car, the Panamera Turbo S boasts an extraordinarily high level of comprehensive features. In keeping with its sporty concept, it comes equipped with the most important driving-dynamic control systems. For example, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is an active anti-roll system that significantly reduces lateral body movement during corning, which enhances stability, handling and overall occupant comfort. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) is also standard and works to help ensure superior traction and higher-performance cornering by applying a variable torque split to the rear wheels in combination with an electronically controlled rear differential lock.

Also standard is Porsche鈥檚 advanced speed-sensitive Servotronic steering system, a sports exhaust system, and the Sport Chrono Package Turbo that further tunes the engine and suspension at the touch of the 鈥淪port Plus鈥?button. While the sporting character of the new Panamera Turbo S is most apparent behind the wheel, the car's exterior tastefully exudes its high-performance ambitions. The new 20-inch Turbo II wheels with increased rear axle track width, side skirts from the Porsche Exclusive range and the adaptive four-way extending rear spoiler express the car's elite performance abilities. Inside, the fusion of exclusivity and sportiness is conveyed in the interior by the standard bi-color leather finish. A new combination of black/cream is offered exclusively for the new Panamera Turbo S with Agate Grey/cream also being added as an exclusive option later this year. Agate Gray Metallic will also be an exclusive exterior color. Porsche Panamera Turbo S now in stock! Beverly Hills Porsche, Number One in New Porsche Panamera Sales for all of the USA! Intelligent Performance on Every Level. Find us on Facebook! Beverly Hills Porsche is an authorized factory dealership of Porsche cars, SUVs, accessories, parts and merchandise. Centrally located to all of Los Angeles, we aim to be a complete lifestyle destination for all Porsche Panamera owners and fans!

Working daily in one of the busiest Porsche dealerships in the country I hear some great and sometime outlandish stories about owning one of the world鈥檚 most fascinating motorcars. Once in a rare while one of these stories comes around that must be shared with the Porsche family. While searching the internet for historic photos of some of my favorite Porsche cars I found this collection of images of a pristine 1969 912 Targa. The photos were arranged in a slide show with a beautifully written story of love and dedication for this particular automobile. During the release of the all new Panamera Grand Turismo, Porsche launched an advertising campaign entitled 鈥淔amily Tree鈥? Porsche encouraged owners to share their ownership stories with the Porsche Family. I have yet to see an example as wonderful as this story of Kim Flint and his 30th year reunion with his first Porsche love. In 1969 Kim Flint Sr. purchased his dream car, a burgundy 912 Targa. The rest of this story is played out magnificently in photos and captions here on Kim Flint Jr's web site. It's stories like Kim Flint's that keep me interested in selling Porsche cars. For me it's not about selling a product but more about extending our family tree. Many thanks to Kim Flint Jr. and Sr. for sharing their story with us. My name is Jay Huffschmidt and I don't sell cars, I sell Porsche. Beverly Hills Porsche is centrally located to all of Los Angeles. Stop by and see why there is NO SUBSTITUTE!

The rear end, complete with L-shaped LED lights in exclusive X4 design and diffuser-look styling, likewise highlights the outstanding dynamic ability of the All-New BMW X4 - even before it turns a wheel. Drivers with sporting ambitions will be extremely well served by the X4 xDrive35i. Its 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine conjures up maximum output of 225 kW/306 hp and peak torque of 400 Nm. That's enough to power the X4 xDrive35i from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 247 km/h. Despite these show-stealing performance figures, the X4 xDrive35i keeps fuel consumption down to 8.3 litres/100 km. The 2.0-litre petrol engine in the BMW X4 xDrive20i, needs 7.3 litres of fuel to cover a distance of 100 kilometres. With eight-speed Steptronic transmission, the unit develops 135 kW/184 hp and serves up 270 Nm of torque. This allows the X4 xDrive20i to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.

All X4 models have a sporty suspension set-up and come with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system xDrive with standard Performance Control. This ensures that power from the engine is also split between the rear wheels continuously and as required, which further improves traction, turn-in, and directional stability. The systems work together with the standard variable sport steering, allowing the All-New BMW X4 to deliver driving dynamics that surpass even those of the X3 in terms of sportiness. An xDrive status display in the Control Display uses three-dimensional graphics to keep the driver informed of the car's body roll and pitch. The interior of the new BMW X4 reveals a harmonious synthesis of sportiness and exclusivity. The All-New X4's body is mounted 36 millimetres closer to the road than that of the BMW X3. The driver and front passenger sit 20 millimetres lower and the rear passengers 28 millimetres lower, creating the feeling of a classical sports coupe.

It is a sensation reinforced by the rear seat bench offers space for three passengers. Equally impressive is the load capacity available, which can be used in a wide variety of ways thanks to the standard 40:20:40 split rear seat bench. All BMW X4 variants are fitted with an iDrive Controller and central display. The premium quality and exclusivity of the interior are underlined by selected materials, subtle electroplated accents, and aluminium trim strips in the wood panelling. The All-New BMW X4 successively blends the hallmark features of the X family with the sporting elegance of a classical coupe, and introduces the unique Sports Activity Coupe concept to the premium mid-size segment. The All-New BMW X4 is a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable luxury SUV with hallmarks of luxury, performance, and efficiency. The Sports Activity Coupe also hints at the next design approach its bigger sibling, the BMW X6, might have.

Italian design house Umberto Palermo Design and their brand, Mole Automobile, have dropped a selection of teaser images showing a new concept that will premiere at next month鈥檚 Geneva Motor Show. Images of the new Mole Automobile depict a sleek two-seater painted in a bright shade of red. At the front, the car includes a large grille with a huge chrome emblem or logo in the center. On either side of the grille are small air intakes and just above them sit intriguing LED headlights. Spin around to the side of the sports car and there鈥檚 angular windows, large sports wheels, and thick B-pillars. The rear of the new sports car incorporates a sleek engine cover, taillights somewhat similar in shape to those of the Lexus LC, quad tailpipes, and a prominent diffuser. Few details about the vehicle are known other than what is shown in these teasers. However, a look around at various Italian publications indicates that the car鈥檚 chassis is made entirely from carbon fiber and that powering the concept is some form of hydrogen system. 鈥檛 put the vehicle into limited production, no matter how popular it may prove. 鈥檙e not reading too much into that.
